Quantum Of Sonic
Please identify. Good morning, 5th generation iPod. The following message is for your eyes only.
Nasty little business in Siam, eh, 5G? Still, can’t be helped. All in the name of Queen and Country, what? At least you’re more familiar with the Sonic Impact V55 Video Player for iPod. And as always, you handled it perfectly.
Now, as you well know, the Sonic Impact V55 Video Player for iPod has a 7 inch 16:9 LCD screen that folds up neatly. We designed it that way to be durable. We know how things get out there, 5G! Remember that time you fought the moon dolphins on Star Station One? That still makes me shudder. The Seventies were a dark time for this business. Surprised we weren’t fighting vampires in clown suits, sometimes. Horrid decade. But I digress.
5G, you’ve probably already noticed the built in stereo speakers and headphone jack. Requested those be added on myself, 5G. They’re digital quality at high and low volumes. Just for our boy, eh? Eh? No need for a thank you, we understand each other perfectly.
Now, if it falls into the wrong hands, don’t worry. The Sonic Impact V55 Video Player for iPod only works with a 5th Generation iPod, like you. Well, maybe a video-enabled Nano or Classic with access to one of Apple’s iPod Composite Video Cables from the Apple Store might be able to make it work, but we don’t include one, and who’s going to go through all that work? So bully for us.
Keep an eye out for the Video-55 A/V Cable twins. They’ll be along for the ride as well. They spoke very highly of you last time, 5G, and with them, you can connect to any television or stereo system, even from across the room, thanks to the infrared remote control. But keep your mind on the job, no matter how distracting they get. The whole world is counting on you!
And remember, 5G, only you can use this player. Unless you were to discover that you had an evil twin that matched all the required specifications exactly, but what are the odds of that happening four times in one life? Good luck, 5G. Good luck.
This message will self destruct in ten seconds.

Due to a recent change in Apple iTunes software, the Nano 3G and the iPod Classic will no longer broadcast a video signal to the Video 55 when docked in the docking connector.
With Apple’s software change, the only way to view video on any existing video player, including the Video 55, is to purchase Apple’s iPod Composite Video Cable, available at Apple retail stores and Apple online at: http://store.apple.com
The cable would be used by plugging one end into the 30-pin plug on the iPod or Nano and the other end into the “AV In” plug on the side of the Video 55.
Please note that this software change by Apple does not affect the ability to play music from the iPod or Nano through the Video 55 speakers. Previous versions of the iPod are not affected by this change. All previous versions that have video capability can play video through the Video 55 when docked.
