Installation Requirements

• Proper Installation requires a finished space of 14”H and 16.5”W beneath the window sill
• Wall Studs must be 16” center-to-center for proper installation
• No need for special construction although PEARL Protected recommends professional installation
• However, PEARL can be installed by a handy homeowner
• Tools Needed for Installation:
  - Safety goggles
  - Stud finder
  - Tape Measure
  - Small Level (6 – 10 inches)
  - #2 pencil
  - Flashlight
  - Electric Drill and 3/16” drill bit
  - Drywall Saw
  - Hammer
  - 16d Nails
  - Staple Gun or 2-Sided Tape (for use with installation sheet)
  - Socket Wrench and Sockets
  - Small Drop Cloth (optional)
  - Vacuum or Broom for cleanup
  - If jack studs need to be installed, you’ll also need: 2 x 4 stud – (minimum of one 8’ piece), frame grade and circular saw
