Why did I get this remote control surgically implanted into my forearm, you ask?

What happened was, I bought this Olevia 3-Port HDMI Switch because my TV only had one HDMI port. This way, I could connect my game console, my Blu-Ray player, and my cable box at the same time. Really, I would’ve bought it just for the included trio of high-quality Olevia 6’ HDMI cables. But it was great being able to switch between those three devices without having to hook and unhook and hook and unhook.

Then, after watching Must Love Dogs with my girlfriend – which, by the way, is like a whole different movie in Blu-Ray – I went to play some Anubis II and couldn’t find the remote that goes with the HDMI switch.

Well, no biggie, I thought. It’s gotta be around here somewhere. In the meantime, I gotta get my Anubis on, so I’ll just change devices by pressing the…uh…hey, wait, there are no buttons on this HDMI switch. You need the remote for that.

Four frantic hours later, my girlfriend called to tell me she’d accidentally put the remote in her purse. I stayed with her long enough to get the remote back, then sent her a terse breakup e-card and called up an unofficial surgeon I know. Long story short, I haven’t lost the remote since.

The only downside is, it’s really painful to change the batteries. But not as painful as it would be if I lost the remote control to my Olevia 3-Port HDMI Switch.
