Some perfectly good names are taboo only because of some unfortunate associations: Katrina, Paris, Adolf. Then there are those names that would sound awful in a vacuum. Guess which kind “Mustek” is.

You may think you know me. You might look at me and say oh, there’s a camera, ho-hum and move along. But that’s just a tiny part of what I’m about. I have dreams. Aspirations. There are sides to me you’ve never even seen. And if you want to just slap me with some simplistic label, it’s your loss. You’re the one missing out on what the Mustek DV-5500 Digital Still Camcorder can do.

Yeah, I take pictures. So what if they’re only 3.1MP and I don’t have an optical zoom? I’ve got other skills, like shooting 640×480 video, playing MP3 and WAV files, and digital voice recording. You need a card reader? Yo, here I am. Looking for a webcam? Present and accounted for. With the included docking station, I can even play back on your TV, and print and email photos with one push of a button. Surprised?

I don’t know what the future holds. Maybe law school. Maybe I’ll take a dance class. There’s nothing the Mustek DV-5500 Digital Still Camcorder can’t do. So call me a camera if you must. But you won’t keep this pigeon confined to any hole.
