Words these days: they all sound the same.

In the English language, there are times where you will find problems. These problems can cause several issues with people understanding each other. For example, watches sounds a lot like swatches. But don't let your ears lie to you: they are not as similar as they sound.

For example, watches are for telling time, whereas swatches are for color. It's weird that one letter would change the entire functionality, but these just some of the hi jinx that the english language is capable of! 

That being said, for certain people watches and swatches might serve the same purpose. For example, people with the disease where they experience time as different colors. With them, it kind of doesn't matter what they have on their wrist: a watch or a swatch. So if you see someone with a paint swatch on their wrist, don't judge them. They're just like you or me. But also don't talk to them, because they might also have that disease where they smell words or something.
