It’s a Slimline between love and hate. As in, at the moment, I hate your guts. But buy me this fully loaded desktop PC and I’m yours

Well, it’s going to be a quiet seven months around my house. Usually by this time of the year, I’m elbow-deep in charts and spec sheets, doing final research for my Christmas want list. See, I’m not one of those modest types who says, “Oh, whatever you think I’ll like is fine.” If you’re giving me a gift, you will know exactly what I want, in no uncertain terms, far enough in advance to leave you no excuse for not getting it. And by May 16, it’s starting to get late – there are barely 200 shopping days left until the big day. It’s only fair that I let you know by the beginning of June at the latest.

But this year will be a lot simpler. I don’t need to figure out whether I want a Blu-Ray player or a digital TV tuner or a personal video recorder or a fully loaded desktop PC. Because the HP Pavilion Slimline S3330F Desktop PC is every single one of those things, and (you guessed it) more.

That’s right: the Slimline S3330F sports a built-in NTSC TV tuner and an over-the-air ATSC tuner to go with that Blu-ray player, 500GB hard drive, and SuperMulti LightScribe DVD burner. It’s all powered by an AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 5400+, which is even more impressive than it sounds. And hey, not only does it play Blu-Ray discs, but it can also handle the soon-to-be-extinct HD-DVD format. Isn’t that quaint? Maybe if you dig around, you’ll find it has an on-board 8-track player, too. With a computer this tricked-out, who knows?

Yes, my normally verbose Xmas list will be exactly one item long this year. In lieu of other gifts, I’ve asked my friends and relations to contribute to my HP Pavilion Slimline S3330F Desktop PC fund. If they really love me, they’ll obey my wishes. So my annual Christmas research is over early. And since I’ll have all this free time now, I can finally get around to setting up Facebook accounts for my pet crawdads, Sherman and Fidget.
