Pas De Lupus
“And you know what they found? A body!”
“No!” Jessica exclaimed as she stretched her long furry legs on the barre.
“Believe it!” said Marie, raising herself en pointe on her rear claws. “My father was there. He said it looked like two gorillas just tore him apart! And he saw teeny little silver bullets everywhere!”
“Were there any witnesses?”
“The neighbors said they saw some black guy hanging around, but whatevs. I bet it was the mob. Writers always get involved with the mob. Hey, Jess, did you bring your 30 gig Apple iPod Video today?”
“Yeah, I did,” replied Jessica in mid-fouetté. “Did you want to hear that Warren Zevon track again? Or would you rather hear the new Wolf Parade? I got that one in AAC from the iTunes store.”
“Ooo, yeah, that one!” answered Marie as she dropped to a plié. “But hurry, once Madame Anastacia gets here we won’t be able to have any fun.”
“She’s so mean,” Jessica agreed. Then she tapped her iPod with a thin, furry finger. “Hey, after class, do you want to see the new Battement movie? I downloaded it last night. Heath Ledger does a great job.”
“I saw it opening night!” said Marie, beginning her petit changement de pieds. “It was grand.”
Jessica looked shocked. “Marie! You were out? Under a crescent moon? Did your father know?”
Marie grinned and shrugged. Jessica suddenly understood.
“Marie! Was it a boy? Did you meet a boy?”
Marie blushed as she nodded. Jessica had so many questions, but just then, her sensitive ears noticed that door was beginning to open. She could tell by the scent, it was Madame Anastacia!
Jessica ran to her bag on all fours, as fast as she could, hiding her 30 gig Apple iPod Video beneath her copy of “Peter And The Wolf”. Then she ran back, quickly taking her friend’s hand in a pas de chat. She’d done it! Just in time!
Madame Anastacia gave the two giggling girls a harsh glare, but said nothing. She simply stood quietly in the center of the room, waiting for her charges to gather. The moon was full, and it was time for class to begin.
