RUIKORING WiFi Water Leak Detectors

I ordered these water sensors for peace of mind of being notified of a water leak in our bathrooms or kitchen in our home. Without physically looking under each cabinet, there was no way to know if there were any leaks, but these sensors provide that assurance of knowing when or where or if there is any water detected and it's all through an app on the phone. It's easy to install the batteries in the water sensors. I like how easy it is to test the sensors for water detection so I know they really work before placing them under the cabinets. To test each sensor, I put a thin layer of water in a small saucer plate and dipped each sensor's metal contact feet into the water. Each sensor emitted a warning tone as intended. The mobile app is pretty straight forward to set up though the printed directions are not very well translated from the original Chinese. When I got the app installed on my phone and turned on location services, the five sensors were identified in the Water Sensor portion of the app. There is no hardware data in the app for detected devices so it's difficult to determine which device is shown in the app. To determine the device, I ended up deleting each water sensor from the app and then testing each in the saucer of water to see which device showed up on the app. I then gave that sensor a unique name in the app and wrote a number on the device to make it easier to identify its location in the house. The included wifi hub works well and connects to the 2.4 Ghz home network quickly. It has a short duration internal "keep alive" battery, but the hub must be plugged in full time to monitor the sensors, which makes sense. It would be nice if the app included a battery life level for the water sensors. I like how easy it is to set up, and these sensors work well in sending a notification to my phone of even a tiny bit of water. This system is a great value for the money and provides peace of mind with this unique design of an app and water sensor duo. I highly recommend these water sensors.
