Nothing is perfect but this vacuum is close
By Panda Pandemic on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2025
I feel like I’m going to jinx myself. My household is really hard on vacuums. I am not sure why but we have murdered vacuums at a rate of 1 every 3 months for the past 3-4 years. I’ve tried so the brands and they have all failed me. Bissell Cleanview, Eureka Powerspeed, Dyson, Bissell Crosswave, Shark Rocket. Even TikTok shop vacuums. I had very long hair, my sons will try to vacuum a Cadillac Escalade if it is sitting on a rug, and we have 3 pets as well, 2 of whom shed a bear coat in fur daily. All of these factors have led us to disaster again & again. I’m about to burst into tears thinking about the shark rocket because I rebuilt it hoping it was just something I could fix, but I just couldn’t get it to suction anymore. Anyways, I was not going to buy another Shark. But this was part of the Amazon refurbished program so it was half the price of the vacuum new. And it’s older, and it came ugly. It’s not an attractive vacuum. But boy oh boy oh boy does it do what it needs to do on these floors and carpets. I am so impressed with how well it handles the fur and the fact that I don’t have to spend time pulling hair out of the rollers. The dust bin does have large capacity but I have to empty after every room. That’s ok. That means it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. I vacuum the 3 stories of my house, including the stairs, 1x weekly. It’s an ordeal but I have to do it, I hate dirty floors, the kids and the dog track so much stuff in. Now here’s what I don’t like. It’s a little heavy for on the stairs and it’s not easy to handle the stairs with the attachments it came with. Honestly, the attachments suck. They’re the worst part about the vacuum. I have arthritis in my hands and it ends up being pretty painful to hold the heavy vacuum in one hand and use the tiny hand tool to go over each stair on 2 flights of stairs. I’d also like to be able to get under things like the console and coat rack a little easier. So it’s not the easiest vacuum to use. But it is so satisfying to use. You know what I mean. The light on the front is excellent. I can’t see the fur on the floor or in the carpet. But it’s there. The light shows me horrifying amounts of fur (the dog should be bald by now I don’t understand), and it shows me what happens when I pass the vacuum over top. Oh god I’m so excited just thinking about this weekend when I drive everyone in my house from room to room as they try to hide from me while I chase them with the vacuum and my complaints of an aching back and no one helping. Buy refurbished. I really like this vacuum and hope it continues to last. It’s early to leave a review as I’ve only had it a few months, but in its time with me we have performed miracles, me and this ugly old beast.

Vacuum STUNK and the motor chamber was filled with pebbles...
By J on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2025
Horrible experience with the Woot "renewed" vacuum. The vacuum looked alright, parts were there, looked decently clean but I did notice the grill in front of the HEPA filter had debris lodged on the front of it (looked like sticky stuff, candy? Food?), the vacuum itself had white dust all over it, no big deal I just cleaned it. When I actually ran the vacuum though it emitted a stink from the exhaust like obnoxious air freshener, it stunk up my whole house, I had all of the windows open in an attempt to get it out and it stunk for hours! Even worse I heard a rattling sound coming from inside the vacuum, I removed the HEPA filter to look behind it and the grate for the motor chamber is lodged with tiny pebbles (like fish tank pebbles), the motor chamber is filled with them. Apparently the previous owner ran this vacuum without the pre-filters and sucked a bunch of pebbles into the motor chamber. That's great but I'm not accepting a vacuum that's going to have a shortened life because the motor is drowning in pebbles, no thanks. How they didn't catch that is frankly beyond me, when you grab the vacuum and shake it you can hear the rattling, this was the first time I decided to try a refurbished appliance and now my last for the following reasons: 1. If they didn't know or care the pebbles were in there, the refurbishing process doesn't consider the motor at all, it looks like they barely clean the outside, replace the accessories, then that's it. Let's say the motor was at the end of its life, they don't inspect or care about that so you're out of luck, you get it in whatever state it's in. 2. We don't really know what the prior owners did with these things. In this case they vacuumed up pebbles without the pre-filters for some unknown reason, but what if they vacuumed up absestos instead? Bed bugs? A crime scene? Ask yourself do you really want whatever the prior owners vacuumed up being spread in your house, like that mysterious stench was spread in mine? 3. If there's anything wrong with it, you have to pack it up and lug the whole thing to wherever you have to return it.
