For Budget-Conscious Parents Seeking a Quiet, Easy-To-Use Humidifier for Their Kid's Room
By db on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2024
tldr: this humidifier is budget-friendly, easy to fill, lights turn off, and, most importantly to parents, is very quiet. longer review: i purchased this humidifier the same day as the LEVOIT LV600HH 6L ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FHZTYJB ). while the levoit clearly a higher-quality product, i was pleasantly surprised at just how great this humidifier turned out to be. in fact, there are some conveniences that are even better than the Levoit (the dead-simple method of filling the tank ranks top of that list) The Levoit *is* quieter than this unit, but honestly--and this is the important thing--THIS HUMIDIFIER IS SO QUIET FOR AN ULTRASONIC HUMIDIFIER--sorry to scream, but that's the important part. yes, you will hear a slight hum - a very quiet white noise in an otherwise silent room - so if you're looking for white noise, purchase the Vornado evaporative humidifier - it has a great fan noise, and does a good job and is easy to clean and easy to change the filter. Watch out for the occasional gurgling noise - that can wake a kid up. For us, we started to worry about having a loud fan going all the time while our kid sleeps, so we got product (and the Levoit for our other child) and we're thrilled. You know how most Ultrasonic Humidifiers have that annoying dripping sound? It's kind of like rolling water but not as soothing? Yeah, I hate that sound. It bugs me. It keeps me awake at night and I tend to think it affects my kids' sleep, too. This humidifier, cheap as it is, somehow filters out that sound - it is still barely there, but it's so muffled you can't hear it. The output is good. The night mode lets it go completely silent and it has all the conveniences you want: timer control, humidity control, mist control, and a dead-simple button for turning off the light. One last thing - the tank cover allows you to pour water on top of it to fill it. This is nice, but really, it's kind of slow. The cover comes off so easily, though, you just take it off, fill it up with a pitcher of water, and you're good to go - I actually prefer that to the Levoit which I have to take off the base, turn upside down and fill from the kitchen sink - I always get drops of water on the floor when doing that transfer. Lastly, it even comes with a mineral filter (something Levoit fails to do) - this allows you to use tap water without dealing with the worrisome white dust that often comes as a result of the ultrasonic devices beating the sh*t out of the water. So far, when it comes to ultrasonic humidifiers, for the money, I haven't found a better value.

Caution: Humidifier Fails When Water Runs Low or Left Idle
By Dustin on Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2024
I purchased this humidifier with high expectations, but it has unfortunately fallen short due to serious design flaws that manifest under certain conditions. Firstly, if the humidifier is left unplugged and allowed to completely dry out, it appears to compromise the integrity of the seals. This issue became apparent when I noticed water leaking from various parts of the unit. The leaks were not just minor; water seemed to penetrate the internal components, including the main electronics, leading to critical failures within the device itself. Additionally, a second unit I tested displayed a different but equally frustrating problem. After being left unused for an extended period and then reactivated, the atomizer—crucial for the device's primary function of emitting moisture—simply ceased to work. Despite following all manufacturer instructions and ensuring proper maintenance, the humidifier failed to produce any mist, rendering it effectively useless. These experiences suggest that the humidifier's design may not tolerate periods of inactivity well, particularly when it involves the water tank drying out. Prospective buyers should be wary of these potential issues, especially if consistent, daily use is not feasible. For those needing a reliable humidifier that can withstand occasional use or operational pauses, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
