These saved my sanity - my little story
By GrandmaJ on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2024
My 3 year old, 7 lb Deer Face Chihuahua was a nightmare on my furniture, appliances, walls, even my bed and pillow! I got a tiny UV flashlight and began to find the telltale signs he'd whizzed my entire house. What a nightmare to clean all that up. I had no idea, until I bought that flashlight. I was so frustrated with his unwillingness to stop marking my house (he has a cat buddy, which is why he's marking, I suppose) that I was toying with ideas on finding him a new home. No matter how many pee pads or trips outside, he'd still pee everywhere. I wanted to weep, at times. Until I found these!!! He actually seems to like wearing them. He will have "accident's, but as soon as I pull the wet one off and get a clean one, he comes to me without prompting and does the "stand" so I can put it on him. I purchased women's wetness protection pads locally (50 for $4) and I put one inside his belly band, carefully placing it where he won't leak outside the band. He's then good for a couple of hours or so. These are such a blessing and I no longer have a high level of irritation for my little fur buddy. They wash up quite nicely with Lysol liquid and laundry detergent. I also add bleach, to take out any stains and odor. I have 8 of these. SUGGESTIONS: I bought four small sized belly bands. For him, even if used alone they are still a little too small. I then bought next size up, which is almost too big, even with the pad. For the small one, a part of the Velcro showed and would stick to my furniture when he was lying on it. I cut a felt rectangle and attached it to that strip of Velcro that always shows. No issues after that. For the larger size, they're still too big, even with the pad. I use a very large safety pin to attach the end that hangs down, but am considering adding a button, or some other way to secure it. The flap doesn't detach because the Velcro is powerful, but occasionally, it seems that the flap might pull loose if he does things like dragging MY blanket to the floor and hiding under it, or doing other cute stuff that pulls at the tab. So securing it will help me stop being paranoid ( LOL). (That's my throw on the floor, right after I washed it, of course. Sigh...) He's a real stinker, but I love him again, thanks to these great products. These are very much WELL worth the money.
