High quality and made to last
By The OG Elf on Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2024
I got this iron for my son in college. He's got a lot of job interviews coming up and I wanted to make sure he had a high quality iron to take care of his clothes. His version of ironing has been hanging stuff up in the bathroom when he's taking a shower. 🤦‍♀️ At this stage of the game, that's no longer going to cut it. I did a lot of research before purchasing this model. I didn't care as much about the price, just the quality and performance of the iron. I didn't want to get him an iron that leaks or has inconsistent heat. You get what you pay for. I ended up choosing this model because it offered all of the functionality that he needs or will need in the future. It's a 1700 watt iron, so it heats up quickly allowing you to get ironing quicker and it generates a good amount of steam. It's got vertical steaming, which is handy for a quick steam touch-up to his suit. The auto-shutoff and anti-drip systems are very nice safety features. The anti-drip is especially useful when you're ironing at the last minute. The soleplate is titanium-infused ceramic, so it easily glides over the fabric. The extra long 10 foot cord is very handy, especially in a dorm with limited outlets. It comes with a water cup for filling the water chamber and a heat resistant mat to protect your counter when you sit it down. When filling the water make sure to use distilled water, as it will help with the longevity and performance of the iron. If you don't use distilled water you can get limescale build-up, which will greatly affect the iron. I couldn't be any happier with the quality of this iron. It's a product that is made to last for years and years to come.

Leaks!
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2024
Started using this iron. Thought that the Electrolux would be a good brand. Within 2 days of use, it started leaking out of the holes in the base. I alter and make wedding gowns and specialty dresses so you can imagine how horrible it is to have an iron leaking on a gown! Also, I'm right-handed and petite stature. the steam button is not convenient and I keep pressing the spray button instead. Finally, it turns off after a few minutes of non-use. But, there is no "on" button to press to get it started back up. I had to unplug and re-plug in the iron and wait for it to reheat. I've returned it and purchased a low-cost iron same as my last one that died after 15 years of hard work! Buy the Sunbeam instead.
