Linksys Velop Pro 7 WiFi Mesh System (Open Box)

Buying this turned out to be a mistake. I purchased this Velop 7 (MBE7000) as a set of three and installation was not difficult, and it worked well. For the first week. Then the random connection drops began occurring, either one child, or the other, or (worse) the main router. The dropped router would stay dropped until rebooted, and then would work fine. Until it or another one dropped again. Ethernet backhaul did not resolve the problem, nor did calling Linksys for help. They suggested factory resets and swapping child node with the main router, which usually worked. For as along as a week. Until the drops recurred. Sometimes the routers would work for a week between drops, but more often drops were once a day. Rebooting routers just before a crucial online meeting did nothing either. Neither did changing router settings. I really wanted this system to work because when it did work, it worked well. I finally gave up and bought a different mesh router, which resolve the problem. Interestingly, I never had a problem with the Linksys Atlas 6E, but that model is getting increasingly difficult to find. Update: Linksys just confirmed that their 12 month product warranty does not apply to purchases made through Amazon, but only applies for purchases made directly through Linksys' own store.
