Works very well..
By TangoGunner on Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2025
So far it works very well. I have the same unit that was purchased new a few years ago. It works very well that it is why I stuck with the same brand & model. This refurbished one works as well as my other unit. Noise level when set to Whisper is very tolerable. Packaging could have been better. Refurbished unit comes with almost everything that the brand new one has. The only things missing are the accessories bag and the off-season storage cover.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM OR ANY OTHERS

Whatever you do, do not buy anything from the Amazon refurbished store. The item will arrive defective and they will refuse to return the item. Don't waste your time like I did. Walmart+ customer service is much better.

I recently purchased the De'Longhi PACEX390UVcare-6AL WH PAC Portable Air Conditioner, and I have to say, I’m really impressed! After trying an LG model alongside it, I can confidently say that this De'Longhi unit is much, much quieter, making it perfect for use in my bedroom or living room without disrupting my peace. The cooling power is excellent as well. It quickly brings down the temperature on hot summer days, and I love the energy-saving features that help keep my electric bill in check. The design is sleek and modern, which fits in nicely with my decor. Here are some helpful hints and tips for getting the most out of this air conditioner: Placement Matters: For optimal cooling, place the unit in a location that allows for proper airflow. Avoid putting it in corners or behind furniture, as this can obstruct the air intake and reduce efficiency. Use the Adjustable Thermostat: Take advantage of the adjustable thermostat to find your ideal comfort level. I’ve found that setting it a few degrees higher during the night still keeps the room cool while saving energy. Regular Maintenance: Clean or replace the air filters regularly to ensure the unit runs efficiently. A clean filter helps improve airflow and can extend the lifespan of the unit. Utilize the Drain Function: If you live in a humid area, using the drain function can help manage moisture levels. Make sure to empty the water tank when it gets full, as this can help the unit run more efficiently. Consider a Smart Plug: If you want to control the AC remotely, consider using a smart plug. This allows you to turn it on or off from your phone, ensuring you come home to a cool space. Overall, I’m really happy with the De'Longhi PACEX390UVcare-6AL WH PAC Portable Air Conditioner. It’s quieter and more efficient than the LG model I also purchased, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to beat the heat without the noise. Highly recommend it!

Only used 1 day so far, but it blows super cold. Also I've owned portable air conditioners before and so far this one is by far the most quiet. It's so good that I plan to get another one. ********************UPDATE****************** Bought a second one it blows so cold also. But get this .... It has whisper mode that is super quiet. It doesn't try to drown out the tv. And the first one in the bedroom is also quiet to help sleep. Plus it has like an ionizer thing that cleans the air. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY!!!!!!!! Hope you get one and have the same excellent service. Good deals are hard to find.
Needs a better window kit for modern apartments.

This arrived a few days ago to replace a much older and power hungry unit that didn’t cool the house down because it was too small for the space. We live in a small apartment, but the kitchen, dining room, and living room are pretty much one space. We needed a 14,000 BTU unit that could cool the rooms but, honestly, was not happy with the current prices of those units. Looking on the Amazon renewed page found this and decided to give it a shot. So far, it is doing a phenomenal job. Haven’t hit the really warm summer days yet so I will update this review around July but for now I like it.. The only downside to this unit is the window kit that it arrived with. The hose is great but a little short for modern apartments where the windowsills are so far up off the ground. The panels are really designed for a window that will sit down on top of them instead of the sliding windows that go left and right. This is because it has the main panel that the hose attaches to, then the extender panel that goes off of that and then a smaller extender that is designed to go under the hose…that does not work when the hose is this short. So I taped the smaller extender to the other one and it’s at the very top of the window. It’s the only way the hose will reach the unit. We will be buying a replacement window kit that has better panels

The remote's a little bit laggy, but that's not a huge worry. Apart from that, the AC does exactly what it's designed to do, it makes cold happen where cold ain't, and that's all I ask for from it. Mine was a refurb, which worried me at first, but it's running fine. One part was missing(the vent grate ring), but the part is not mission critical, and I had a spare from my previous hose, so no biggie. Though while we're here, I wanna say something to every AC manufacturer in the world right now. Window frames... Tend to have a slot that the window seats into. Which means that lovely little plastic plate you give us to insert and install the hose into for the AC? Yeah, part of the hole that hose seats into is partially obscured by the window frame. Which means that Either it does not nest properly because a hose is inserted, keeping it slightly off kilter and creating an airgap situation, or the hose does not install properly. I used the old air hose plate and hose from my previous AC unit, since it fit slightly better, but yeah. There's a good quarter inch where any standard window frame overlaps with the hole the air hose is supposed to seat into. So like...... think before you design your products next time, hey?
Good affordable AC for short term use

My city gets hot for just a few days in the year and I needed a cheap but high power AC (coz the room is big). Saw this brand at my doctor's office and I remembered that it did a great job cooling their office room. So decided to go with it especially coz it was cheap. My living room is about 500+ sqft and it worked very well to keep the room nice and cool. Even on the hottest day, the room was at cool / bearable temperature. Overall, would recommend this for short term use.
Seem like its a good unit but there are a number of design flaws.

I was borderline on giving this a 4 star rating but the design flaws were to much. This unit sells for $680 new. At the "RENEWED" price of $230, you kinda have to risk it. I purchased the ASURION 3 Year Cooling Protection Plan for an additional $82. Which brought the price up to around the cheapest 14,000 BTU portable AC units offered on Amazon. Figured if this was a returned / renewed item, the extra $ was worth it. Even despite how horrible Asurion is to work with. Well now I dont think so many of these got returned because they broke / malfunctioned. I think they got returned for the design flaws. First design flaw is the direction the air blows out of the unit. It blows up out of the unit. Thats good if you are trying to cool an entire room but not so much if you are looking for this unit to blow towards you while sitting down. The louver is kinda adjustable (its motorized so you really shouldnt be manually changing the direction) but because the face of the unit is the highest point, it cant blow vertically. Second flaw is fan speed. I think they focused to much on the unit being quiet and not enough on power. At the highest fan speed it brings into question if this unit is correctly rated right at 14,000 BTU. It might have the capability to do it but the weak fan speed, I dont think you will see that translated into a cooler room. My previous Haier portable AC was rated at 14,000 BTU and worked great. The highest fan speed was much faster. The biggest flaw is the included exhaust system. Its terrible. The hose is exactly as wide as the window slat. So regardless of the kind of window you have, the slat can not slide into the window slot. There is no lip for it to do so. My previous portable unit, the end of the hose was oval. Giving more then enough room to fit down into the window slot. I had to use a hand towel to fill of the window slot to make it work. The only thing that holds the slat in place is at the very ends of them where they fit into the window slot. You will have to get creative to keep bugs and the weather from slipping inside. How a nearly $700 unit makes it out of production with that kind of flaw is beyond me. And then there is the hose length. Its absurdly short. I have slightly higher windows and I had to build a platform for the unit to sit on just so the hose would be long enough. But even for normal window heights this is a major concern. You need as much unobstructed air flow coming into the back of the unit as possible. Warm air is taken in through the coil and cooled. The short hose means the unit is push way to close to the wall. Reducing its overall effectiveness. I could easily see the hose system being the biggest reason this unit is returned so much. Those arent cheap to buy separately but if you want some flexibility and functionality out of this unit, you will need to buy one. I havent looked but I would assume there are ones out there that have an oval exhaust hole as well. So although the unit is worth the renewed price, expect to spend extra money to make it work right.

It works great, but was damaged in the front. Was probably a delivery issue. Was not delivered according to my request. Looked like it was dropped inside gate.
