Posh level perks for 1/4 the cost!

I am a stroller snob. I own a Bumbleride singleton stroller, and LOVE IT. But when we had two babies back to back I couldn't justify investing in ANOTHER expensive stroller so quickly... but we needed to upgrade to a double. I sort of settled on this Evenflo (again: SNOB!) "in the meantime" b/c it was being sold at a price I couldn't refuse, and I figured we'd at least try it. I LOVE IT! Why I love it: I drive a Chrysler minivan and it fits in the narrow trunk. A lot of other stroller wagons would not-b/c they don't fold in half. This one folds very much like a normal stroller, albeit a bit chunkier. I am short and not that strong, and I can heave it in and out of the trunk no problem (I was worried about this b/c it weighs quite a bit). It also rolls easily when unopened, so there's no need to pick it up and carry it--you can roll it if you need to open it elsewhere. Sometimes this happens to me when parked in a tight spot. My almost three year old and almost two year old fit comfortably and there is a nice little tray that goes between the occupants to keep them from annoying one another. I like that each side has a full canopy for rain/wind. Unlike other wagons there is a foot space that drops lower than the stroller frame, which means their feet aren't sticking straight out into one another. It's surprisingly easy to maneuver and the handle very easily adjusts in height and converts from push stroller to pull wagon. It's nice that the cup holder folds right into the stroller itself when packed up - no need to keep track of it and pull it off before folding up. Overall this thing is really... perfect! I stand impressed! We took it out on a very windy day - and the babies stayed warm tucked inside the full canopies. This thing even handles well on snowy walks. Nice job, Evenflo! Posh level perks, at 1/4 of the cost! We do nature hikes on unpaved trails and also spend a LOT of time on the sidelines of outdoor sports events. This fits our needs perfectly. Very happy mama!

I’d give it a 3/5 overall

So the leg room is good for a toddler to sit upright in like a chair instead of flat on the ground, so that’s good because it’s a more natural position for a child to sit in. However that also means my toddler tries to stand up while still buckled in and he gets angry that he can’t do things like turn around freely. So there’s a lot to unpack there since you can’t really reason with a toddler. So I’d give it a 10/10 for leg room but an 8/10 for not having the forethought or understanding that some toddlers would want to stand in it. It’s not easy to fold, but it’s not the most difficult either when compared to other wagons. It doesn’t really fold flat at all so it doesn’t really fit in any storage areas well. Even when folded it still has a lot of width at the bottom compared to the top so the silhouette resembles a triangle or wedge. So if you wanted to put it in the trunk of your car with other things for a day out, it’s going to be a lot of work to make it fit. I’d give it a 5/10 for foldability. Maneuverability is good, the wheels are good so I cannot complain. We had no issues maneuvering it on cobblestone. So 10/10 for that. My biggest beef with this wagon is the sun shades, or rather the lackethereof. It has these two sun canopies that are supposed to shade your child from the sun but they are basically useless. They’re tiny, they’re far apart from each other, and trying to position them so they overlap and create a reasonable amount of shade is impossible. Whoever thought that these canopies were worth the fabric they’re sewn out of should be publicly shamed. I’d give them a big fat 0/10, I cannot emphasize how much this brings my overall opinion of the usefulness of the whole wagon down because of the absolute failure of a canopy this wagon has. If you put your child in the wagon so their back is to you and they are looking out on the world as you go forward, don’t try to hang a diaper bag off the handles to open up space inside for other things, even if your diaper bag has those hanging handles. The reason is that the back is very low on this wagon and the bag will bump against your child’s head and back as it sways and it’ll probably annoy them. Put the diaper bag inside the other side of the wagon and use the basket that it comes with for whatever items you wanted to take with you/pick up while you’re out. But you’ll want to put the basket on the front of the wagon not near the handlebars either because your kid can and 100% will grab things out of the basket if they can reach it. So be prepared for a very front heavy trip, unless you put your child in the front of the wagon facing you so that they are facing backwards to the direction you are traveling in. That’s a you decision, there’s no real reason to choose one way over the other. Overall, I’d give the wagon a 3/5. It’s very maneuverable, and has a good seat for the child to sit naturally and comfortably in. If you’re lucky your kid won’t try to stand up while in it but that boils down to whether your kid likes/wants to stand and walk around. It’s not a super foldable wagon but it’s a little easier than some other models I’ve seen. If it were down to just those three metrics I’d give it a B. But the lack of appropriate or useable sun cover really makes me unwilling to use it overall, I’ve used it once since I bought it. What child wants to be blasted by the sun on a 90+ degree day because some idiot didn’t design a useful sun shade? Not my kid. And honestly if I were a kid and someone strapped me into a wagon that I couldn’t get out of on my own and subjected me to relentless exposure to the sun when it was the middle of a heat wave I’d be angry. Like I said earlier my overall opinion of the wagon is dragged down so much by the lack of useful sun cover that I cannot give it more than 3/5 stars. If it weren’t for the fact that it is one of the only wagons on the market that has a seat and a footwell for the child, I’d give it 2/5 based on the sun shades alone. Maybe if they fixed the sun shade or sold a better sun shade attachment I’d change my opinion. Until then, I’m not down to blast my kid with relentless sun in the middle of a nationwide heat crisis so if you’re ok with that, that’s your choice but for me it renders the wagon pretty much unusable.
