Columbia Women's Newton Plus Hiking Boot

These boots are super cute! They seem well made, and I wanted to like them so much. Though the first thing I noticed when I put them on, was they were hot inside! They were sitting in the sun, but still if you’re planning to hike in the sun, your feet would be baked. I tried them on later, after they’ve been sitting indoors, and still they were very warm inside. My feet got sweaty just having them on for like 5 minutes or so, and just sitting there too. And oh, what a relief it was to take my feet out of them. They’re not breathable at all! They seem to have good ankle support, but it just felt funny to me. They also don’t have very much cushion in the pads. The 8 was quite snug on my foot, though I didn’t mind, you just couldn’t put thick socks on, or another soul. They have nice treads on the bottom! They’d make good winter boots! Just not good for a summer hike.
