NOT induction, and the griddle is Aluminum with a coating
By Brett Bilbrey on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2024
This is a nice cooktop for places like a cabin, an RV, or even camping if you have an AC power source. It is limited in its control (my biggest complaint). It only has three levels of power. The cooktop itself is glass. so you have to be careful with it (My first order came cracked and Amazon replaced it immediately). The griddle is Aluminum with a coating on it (There is fine print that says that the griddle is for use with plastic or wooden utensils only, so the coating can be scratched by metal utensils). The drip tray is plastic. The drip tray connects to the back of the cooktop, and you slide the griddle into slots on the cooktop and can secure the griddle to the cooktop with 'clamp posts'. The hole in the griddle will line up over the drip pan. Using the cooktop is a bit unusual in that you select the burner (A or B) and then set the temperature you want, and then hit 'play'. The cooktop heats up very quickly, the griddle heats up a little slower. The griddle itself is easy to use and clean, but I wish it would attach to the cooktop a bit more securely as the griddle can slide around a little as you cook. The instructions are OK, and it comes with a cute cookbook. Overall, the cooktop is lightweight, easy to clean, and has a large griddle surface. Is it your best choice? if you want something lightweight for an RV or camping, then maybe. If you want something to add to your kitchen I would consider other options.
