This collar works very well as a trainer for a young pup. The noise button works to distract them, and if necessary, the lowest setting on the "buzzer" will teach them that the current behavior will not be tolerated without hurting them or being inhumane. We've never used the "zapper" button, and do not need/want too. Battery life could be longer, but it is easy to use. And it's waterproof.
