Easy to travel with and one of two dogs like it

Overall this is a good travel crate. If you can call it a crate. Really it’s a dog tent and one of my dogs barely left it in a recent trip to the beach. It is pretty sturdy, and easy to open and setup. My dog wouldn’t break through it if it were closed, but a more aggressive dog could. I should mention the way the front entrance is designed is a bit weird. My dog has to duck to get in. He a medium 48lb collie. Otherwise although it’s a bit smaller than his normal crate, he has plenty of room to maneuver inside. His twin brother who loves the crate at home, wouldn’t give it a second look. I think he might not have liked the idea of ducking to get in. If you look at the pictures you’ll see the entrance opening is about 3” down. Unlike his crate at home that has basically no lip on the top or bottom of the entrance. I might keep it cause I hate to have a crate for one and not the other.Must not give one child special treatment.I’d recommend this. But for what it is. It’s not a full on crate. It’s just a nice place to sleep and feel safe if that’s your thing.

Yes... But.
By DAOHIO on Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2017
Yes, this is a well made, soft sided crate. The 38 " is large enough for an adult Golden Retriever. It's easy to set up, easy to travel with. So, here is the "But". I bought this crate to use in my bedroom with my golden retriever puppy - we have a wire crate in the kitchen, and this was just an extra crate so we could have him sleep in our room at night. This worked great from 8 weeks when we brought him home until about 14 weeks. He likes the crate and up until 14 weeks had settled nicely. Being in the bedroom, I was able to hear him immediately when he needed to go out in the middle of the night, and although he pawed at the screen mesh in the front when he wanted to get out, I was right there to take care of him so there wasn't an extended time for him to try and rip it or chew it. Then one day at 14 weeks (at about 20 lbs), he didn't want to go to sleep and discovered he could flip it over if he jumped/leaned hard enough - especially forward. After trying a few more nights to make this work, it just wasn't safe for him to be in anymore. I'll save it for when he is an adult, presumably calmer and we want to travel. For now, he's in the kitchen at night (and amazingly quiet) and I've ordered another wire crate for the bedroom. Of course, I hope by the time he's about six months, he won't need the crate in our bedroom at all, which is why I had tried to get away with the soft sided mesh type. So, I was successful in using this crate while we needed it most - in those early days of adjustment and frequent night awakenings, but it is not a solution for the "teenage" years. I would absolutely never leave my dog unattended in this type of crate, unless the dog was an older, calm, well-trained dog. So, my bottom line is that if you are looking for a soft sided crate, this is a good one - but be sure the soft sided type is what you really need.
