Right choice for shoes

Needed shoes for my elderly father who can't reach to tie shoes and has mobility issues and these were great for him. He can slip into them easily and so comfortable he wears them all the time! They are machine washable but I haven't tried washing yet.

Let me preface by saying that I really wanted these shoes to work. I normally wear a 12.5 because I have a larger second toe. However, the 12.5's were too large. So, I tried a 12 and my heel slipped in the shoe. I'm work in healthcare, and I'm on my feet a lot, so I need a shoe that keeps my foot in place. Maybe if I wore more bulky socks. They are comfortable when standing still, and my feet hurt less than my older worn out shoes. These shoes would have worked if there was the option to tighten the laces. Unfortunately, sketchers don't seem like they'll work for me as they're almost all slip-ons shoes.
