If you have a large/open setting you won't be disappointed!
By Justin/Briana on Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2023
I think that there are 2 homes for this device. An office/desk and larger scale room where connecting to a main display or sending a video feed a large distance. In an office/desk space I give it a B to a B+. In an open/larger environment I give it an A+ I purchased it for the open/larger environment and I am not disappointed at all! The Good: - Easy "Out of the Box" plug and play. As long as you plug them in correctly no problems (RX in the monitor, TX in the Main Device). - Laptop recognized and sent the image almost immediately (Less than 15secs at most). - The USB cable is USB-C. A lot of times I've found that small devices like this still use the micro-USB so I am very happy that this is USB-C so that I can interchange with cables I already have if I need a longer one. - Both the USB and the HDMI fit very snug into their ports. USB especially is nice, so that in the event the cable is stretched a bit to get to the power it doesn't fall out. - Instructions are pretty clear. Tells you they are synced out of the box, but in the event it desync's there are instructions to pair them together again. - The power needed is 5V 2A. This is pretty standard so any plug will do if you are to far away from the computer/device that will power it. The Bad: - It does not come with it's own power plug if it is needed. The Ugly: - If you have a monitor that has USB ports be sure that the output is 5V 2A otherwise it won't power the device. - The HDMI cap doesn't have a home when the device is plugged in. - Maybe I am begin a bit picky here but you have to be sure you know where the cap is if you are consistently moving it about. Otherwise, I guess leaving it in the box (If you don't throw it away like I do). The only other option is to tape it to the unit. - The width of the device might make it difficult with some devices. My laptop only has 2 USB ports and the plug ends up blocking one of them. - If this is will be used with a laptop make sure if you need a USB Hub you get one. Overall I really like these and already have some plans to replace a 50ft+ HDMI cable for sending video from a camera to my computer. I think that is really where this shines. It is still completely fine in an office/desk setting but could have some drawbacks.

It works but there’s a lag
By SH on Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2024
The lag is too long to be acceptable at this price point. Unfortunately I need a wireless setup for space issues. I used this to connect my yamaha receiver to my TV. My dvd player and stereo speakers are also connected to my receiver. The sound coming via the stereo speakers is not synced with the TV due to lag. This means I have to turn its sound down and just use the TV sound. Defeats the purpose of having the receiver except I don’t have the space to connect the dvd with wires to the TV anyway. If it wasn’t for the lag, this would be an elegant solution.
