So far so good-Preliminary review after 2 months. Good pool for a first time pool.

I have never had a pool before whether inground or above and so this is the honest review of a newbie. The pool itself arrived timely double boxed and free of issues. This pool was not too overly heavy in the box, but if you have any issues with your back, I highly recommend you anticipate getting help to move it once its delivered to your home. The pool was easy to assemble and defect free. My biggest initial concerns for this pool was for the initial cost to fill and then the monthly cost to operate the filter pump. I live in Mesa AZ, and the cost to fill (additional on my water bill) was around $60. Be mindful that it will take several hous to fill to full and you will have to top off every couple of weeks due to evaporation and active kids splashing the water out. As for the filter pump, I run it during off peak hours for 10-12 hours. So far it seems to cost about $3 per month. The trade off is that this is a very slow pump and likely does not fully cycle all the water (about 4k gallons worth) even in a 12 hour window. I may consider upgrading the pump in the future. Honestly the biggest challenge is maintaining the water chemistry. You may wish to research the ins and outs of this before investing in a pool as there is quite a bit to it. Its not a hard thing, but it does take constant attention to keep the pool ready for swimming. Overall, my initial impression is that this is a quality pool which was easy to put together and get going. I do intend to provide a follow-up review at the end of the season. I will be taking the pool down and will evaluate its condition at that time.

A regrettable purchase

I thought this would be a cheap way to make our backyard in Phoenix more enjoyable. It was for about a month. Now that summer is fully upon us, it has proved to be a nightmare to maintain. If I cover it, the water gets too hot, like 110 deg F. Uncovered, the chlorine evaporates in a few days and algae starts growing. The cover wont stay on anyways. It takes 20 mins to install, and blows off as soon as a gust hits it. The filter in the pump can't handle algae. It gets clogged up in a few hours. Having to plug all the ports in the sidewall, so I can take the pump apart to clean it daily, is not fun. Since the returns are halfway up the sidewalls, it doesn't really get much algae out anyways. I tried dealing with it. I killed the algae, bought a vacuum to try to remove it, but I finally have decided I just have to drain it. That was made easy since the junk hoses that plumb the returns and inlet to the pump, have all cracked from UV exposure. So half the water drained out last night. Overall the thing is just not made very well. The liner is pretty thin, the frame isn't super sturdy, the pump sucks, the ladder is wobbly, the cover sucks, and the hoses can't handle any sun exposure. I would highly recommend looking at a different brand and a higher end option. Get something with a sand filter and better materials all around if you want it to last. All in I have easily spent over $1k between this pool, a liner, skimmer, brush, vacuum, chemicals, new hoses, etc..., and I think we went in it less than a dozen times. 0/10.
