Worked great for 2 weeks, then every thing started sticking.

And I don't mean a little sticking, whatever I cooked , the whole thing would stick to both plates. It started out fine. I'm on a low carb diet, so I like to make chaffles of all kinds. I'll also cook eggs on the waffle maker so I don't have to clean extra dishes. The problem started after making some sugar free chocolate chip chaffles. The chocolate started burning almost immediately and the batter was stuck to both sides of the unit. After I let the appliance cool down. I first got as much of the batter off as I could with a silicone spatula and paper towels. Then I placed a moist paper towel on the heated up plates to steam the rest of the mess off. When I attempted to make regular chaffles the next day, after spraying the plates with avocado oil, per usual, I poured in my chaffles batter and waited for it to cook. After it was done, I lifted the lid and the chaffles had ripped apart , sticking to the upper and lower parts. I brushed this off and proceeded to clean the unit once more. After a second and third failed attempt, I threw the waffle maker in the trash. I assume this appliance is cheaper than other similar mini waffle makers because they skimped on applying the non-stick coating on the plates. I learned my lesson in trying to go cheaper. I thought these things were all alike. I had a Dash mini waffle maker similar to this one and for a few dollars more that one lasted almost 2 years.
