Nice evaporative cooler
By 🌿 𝔽𝕖𝕣𝕟 🌿 on Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2023
I ordered the PARIS RHÔNE Evaporative Air Cooler, 2943 CFM Windowless Air Conditioner, Swamp Cooler Portable Humidifier 41" with 10.6 Gal Water Tank, Remote Control, Scroll Casters for Home Outdoor Garage Office, and it seems to work well. I will make it clear. I have never used these types of cooling units, so I had to do quite a bit of research. It sounds like they really are not effective in humidity which I can verify is true. This is a very large unit, and larger than I expected. I am so happy about the huge cooler so you are not constantly refilling. There are attachments to hook up a hose, but that's not something I am going to use. I fill by filling pitchers of water which is very time consuming when you are just filling it for the first time. I suggest to periodically put water in there so you don't get down to the end and have to go through that again unless you are using the hose attachments. If you have one of those handheld shower heads that could make your life easier if you wheel it in the bathroom. It comes with four small ice packs. There are three different speeds, and it can oscillate left and right which I was excited about. You can manually adjust the front if you want to have the air go higher or lower. There is a timer and a cool option, and I'm really only using this to cool down because I don't have the right windows for a portable AC unit and I am renting and can't cut out something in the wall. This really does cool things down, and it's even better if you add ice in. Upon my research I realized you really need a lot of airflow for these to work well so I have fans blowing around it or the window open behind it. I noticed the ice packs melt extremely fast, so you want to stay on top of it and constantly swap them out and add ice. When the ice melts it gets hot again and fast. I'm trying to look right now if I can find some additional ice packs that I can keep in the freezer for rotations to keep it cooler because it definitely changes once they melt. I started freezing larger bricks in plastic food containers. When it's incredibly humid, this makes it worse. And with swamp coolers, you are already humidifying the room, and it can get out of control and get much worse when you are not in the right situation. I feel like it doesn't work that well in a small closed door room like my bedroom, so having a more open area and a lot of air circulation helps it all. I have incredibly hard water, and I'm going to have to do some research on what I can do to make sure minerals don't build up in here. And you'll want to make sure you use the rest of the water in here at the end of the season. I drained the water out, and the drain hole works fine. It is a small, black rubber plug that you just pull out. When it stops running out. You then need to tilt the unit backwards to get the remainder of the water out as there still is quite a bit. One thing I wish they would change on this unit is to add much bigger wheels. They work, but they barely work on carpet or rugs. I literally have to inch it back and forth left and right because it will not slide on carpet or rugs which takes me forever in order to move it to a different room or to go outside and drain it. The wheels will move on hard floors. I'm still glad. At least there is something for wheels versus not having anything at all, but I would be just tickled if this unit had big wheels where you could push it across the carpet or rugs. If you are using this for the first time and are expecting a regular air conditioning unit that is not this type of technology with a lot of water, you may be disappointed. Make sure this is something that will work for you and your climate, especially with high humidity. Get the air flowing in the room. If the longevity isn't there, I'll come back and update.

Works OK, don't expect cold AC
By J&R V on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2023
I connected the water hose to this and let it fill and run with water. It did cool the air a bit but it was not significant as a normal AC. It comes with ice packs that you freeze and put into the machine that are supposed to cool it down but I don't know how well it will work. Had it out on a 100 plus degree day while I was in the garage. It was a little cooler but not drastically.
