An air popper that works with baby kernels!!
By showurscars on Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2025
Finally an air popper that pops most if not all of the baby white kernels that are so much easier to chew and eat. I had to add a mesh strainer on the opening as the baby kernels are so light, they just come out of the popper without being popped. It was fun to see the kernels pop in front of me. I’ve had my old air popper for over 15 years, I just hope this one lasts as long. A few things I don’t love: There is no on/off button. I didn’t have one for my last air popper either. I wish there was a container to heat butter but I like to use olive oil as it is healthier. Luckily, I just put the old one on top and it heats it right up. The vent opening is not small enough that the kernel shells fly out everywhere Here is what I do love: Cord wraps around and the base fits compactly in the top. It takes up less space than my old popper It is a cute light blue color :)

It's okay but there might be better choices especially for those with children

I waited a week to review this item to make sure it wasn't user error. Overall it does the job and pops 90% of all kernels put into it. However, there are some things you need to consider before purchasing it. 1. The machine gets VERY hot, both the base and the container. I would not recommend it for young children. They could easily get burned. 2. There is no on and off switch. As soon as you plug it in it starts running. I learned that the hard way with kernels flying everywhere. 3. The lid on top does not fit securely causing the top to kind of float off. No kernels have escaped thus far but it causes hot air to be blown out of the side, again which is a burn risk. I bought it because it was self contained, pops into its own serving bowl, but overall if I were to buy another I would probably go to the traditional chute kind. Presto had a great concept, it just didn't execute well.
