Evenflo Easy Walk-Thru Clear Gate, Clear (Open Box)

Easy to install, great quality

Do not buy. Bought 2, they both broke within a few months and unfixable. The latch snaps off from constant movement (aka opening and closing the gate daily.) Would work for a place that you rarely need to walk through? I do not recommend, waste of money. Also, scratches easily on the acrylic.

The gate design is a bit different than your usual baby/pet gate. The clear panel makes it look modern and kinda cool. I don't know that there is anything else to gain when compared to your standard bar type gates of similar price other than the looks (Perhaps that it doesn't remind you of a jail). The clear panel (Plexiglas like) is bit more flexible than I thought it would be. It flexes a bit but it doesn't allow for the opening to increase by much. I would had liked it more if the clear panel was a bit more rigid and slightly thicker. I don't think it will break but feels a little flimsy compared to the rest of the gate. While it has not happened to our gate, I expect for the clear panel to eventually get scratched overtime with use. Overall quality looks good though. The installation is very standard and just as easy as any other baby gates of similar design. I also appreciate it came wit the extension for wider openings. If you like the looks then give it a go.

This was WAY better than the run of the mill mesh gate that's been used in most households for years. The installation process was easy as long as you read all the directions, don't go cutting all the zip ties as soon as you take it out, the zip-tie near the top handle is there to help with alignment when installing! This now allows us to keep out bedroom door open to allow airflow while keeping the pets out, my house is a bit messy right now since we are remodeling, So I'm sorry for that. Speaking of remodeling, this has also help keep the pets in another room while we work on different parts of the house, and they do not feel disconnected from us since the door is open and they can see us! The winning ticket for me is again unlike traditional gates that have a mesh etc, the pets are unable to climb up to hop over, it doesn't mean they cant get over if they REALLY want to, but out of our 6 pets, only 1 was brave enough to make the jump lol. The clear Plexiglas? is also nice if you have children, there is nothing for them to get their fingers caught in, and the bars are small enough they they wont be able to get their head stuck in between, so overall this is a great tool, and is perfect for both parents of small children, and Pets. The build quality is very solid, and I like that you have to lift a bit after pressing the button to open it, you do not have to do the same to close it. It opens in both directions so its convenient to go in and out. I'm not sure if its a feature or not, but no matter which way we open it, it closes behind me by itself and I love it!! Top notch Evenflo! I will be ordering another for the laundry room, so I can have better airflow while keeping pets out!

I actually wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this gate based on the acrylic front, but I love it! It makes the space seem so much more open with the clear area and surprisingly it doesn’t show fingerprints as much as I thought it would. We clean it same as we do our normal mirrors, about 1x a week. It opens both directions, and to open you have to lift and unlock at same time so it’s very child-proof. If you are using it more for dogs, you could remove the bottom clip and you’d only have to unlock it and not use the lifting mechanism. I think it’s great that it can be easily modified, and can fit most doorways with the extra piece! It’s not a cheap plastic, so it looks great with the rest of our wood in the stairway. I’m super pleased with it.

I love the look of this after installing and peeling off the protective cover from the acrylic sheet. It's a lot sleeker than jail bars! However, both dogs and littles will leave all sorts of messes on it! Keep a bottle of window cleaner nearby, for sure! THis is really designed for doorways, and I might stretch to use it at the bottom of the stairs, but it's pressure mounted with an acrylic panel - not very good for top of the stairs safety. The door opens easily with one hand and swings in or out. Super convenient. I really love it, just know it needs a lot of cleaning!

As it is, this gate works fine. It is hard to put together: it is held together with some zip ties and there is a little sign on them that says don't take off until you assemble it. Well, I didn't see the sign and cut them off right away (who wouldn't, right?). So that makes it really hard to put together. Then, it didn't fit my stairs. I don't have an overly wide staircase, but it's about 3 inches too narrow to work. I'm assuming that's why most people would get these gates it to keep babies or animals from going up or down stairs? They should make it wider to fit normal staircases. It will fit in between a door, but I think that's about it. Just make sure you measure before you buy, and whatever you do, don't cut off those zip ties!

This gate would get 5 stars if it didn't have the bottom crossbar that we keep stubbing our toes on or tripping over. We have an old house, so I was nervous about the size of the box...it was gonna be too big for our 30" doorway. Nope. It fits perfectly. I do not need the included expander. It took a few twists to get the tension just right, then we were good to go! The open/close mechanism is solid. I love that the gate swings in and out. It fits so well in our kitchen doorway and swings right out of the way, and stays there. No accidental closure. We've "slammed" this closed a few times, but it hasn't budged from its placement. I'm very impressed and considering replacing the wooden gates we have with more of these because how unobtrusive they are.
