POWERTEC Band Clamp with Levers (Open Box)

I'm a picture framer and my old clamp system broke so I went looking for something new. For me, this product worked just fine because I already had other equipment to make it work well. But for someone new, I think it could be better. I tried using just this clamp to make a frame. If you just put it in, glue it and tighten it, almost ever corner I tried was not a square corner because of the way the clamp corners are cut inside. They allow one arm or the other to slide beyond the actual corner. (picture 1) If you're careful and pay attention, you can correct this and then this clamp works fine. But I don't think it's something you should have to pay attention to every time - you should just be able to expect it to work. For me, as I said, it wasn't a big deal because I already use metal corner brackets (picture 2) to make my frames and just use this clamp to go around the outside of those brackets so this clamp doesn't have to be precise for my work. Other than this issue, I have not had any problems with this clamp, it is easy to use otherwise. I haven't had any problems with the strap getting tied up or kinked. The clamp to keep the strap tight has always worked well and the screw handle is easy to turn and adjust. It would be nice if there was something to automatically hold the excess strap, but when you're buying something with a lower end price, you aren't going to get the high end features.
