Assistrust 2 in 1 Detachable Sound Bars for TV (Open Box)

I have an old Vizio soundbar I got about 10 years ago for about $100 that's falling apart but still works. Figured Prime Day would be a good time to get a new one with all the advances in tech and such. Picked one up around the same price as my 10-year-old one was when it was new, figured it should be comparable and likely a little better? Nope. It's way worse. Volume doesn't go up as high and there's almost no bass at all. Explosions? Can barely hear them. Heavy bass music? Sounds weird because there's just... nothing. It feels like if you installed an equalizer and just turned the bottom 1/3 of the sliders down to zero. Pros are it was quick and painless to set up - both the hdmi-arc and bluetooth worked just fine. Build quality feels fine, no complaints there. Size-wise it's pretty much what I expected, and it's nice having the option to plug them in to each other as a sound bar or stand them separated upright with the included stands. Don't think it's quite bad enough to return them, I'll see if I can get an audio splitter and use these as a little extra on top of my old sound bar. I'm pretty surprised how many five-star reviews there are praising the audio volume and quality. If you're looking for a small soundbar so you can listen to music/watch TV without anyone outside of your room being able to hear anything then this may be great for you - but otherwise it's a hard pass.
