Top positive review
Adjustable, but stiff
By M. Davis on Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2025
I love the stand. It's stable, even though my laptop sort of shakes when I use the keyboard. I have a 15" Lenovo laptop. It stays cool. It's hard to adjust for me, but might not be for someone without arthritis.

Good finish and adjustability, a few gripes

Measurements: the diameter of the base is about 9 3/8”, platform is 10 ¼” wide by 8 ¾” tall (from the resting place on the arms that stick out about ½” below the platform). The whole thing weighs 1.1 kg. The good: - Build quality in terms of edges and finishing is good for the price. - The stand is very stable, even when extended, as long as you keep the center of gravity roughly centered over the base. If you straighten the arm vertically so that the edge of the platform is past the back of the base, the whole thing topples over quickly, so keep that in consideration when calculating the maximum height you will get. - It does get tall enough for me (5’5”) to stand at my desk. - The joints have full range of motion. Not great: - I find that it’s a bit top-heavy for it’s purpose: even without the laptop, the balance point is approximately in the middle of the arm at both the shortest and tallest extensions. Add a laptop and it’s always top-heavy. - The top joint is too stiff to adjust when I have a device on it or I risk my device. Expect to remove it every time you want to adjust. - The rotation around the base is very stiff so that, unless you have placed a reasonably heavy device on it, the base tends to rotate on my desk instead of the stand rotating on it’s base (the friction of the arm on base>friction of base on desk) - I need to depress the catches on either side of the arm to decrease the height but to increase the height of the arm I just pull as the catch is one-way. This means that often when I am adjusting the angle of the top board, the arm will incidentally come out a couple notches and I have to actively get it back down again. Also if I pick the entire thing up by the top plate (which feels like the best way to support my device while moving) the base quickly falls till the arm is completely extended. The bad: - Lots of vibrational movement. It seems to be loosest where the height adjusts as the aluminum top piece slides into a plastic holder fit inside of the aluminum bottom piece. Not only is there too much vibrational movement when typing on the stand, but it’s actually enough to be really annoying even while I’m typing on my external keyboard sitting near the base of the stand. I’m not a vigorous typer and this happens even with the stand at the shortest height. - The stock photos are inconsistent about this, but on the stand I received, there’s a very annoying branding in the middle of the base where I can’t help but constantly see it. On an otherwise sleek device that most of us purchased because it was pretty I really hate this. - The stand I received is not level and there is no way to adjust this. For me I noticed the second I put a device on it and the picture with the levels were just to demonstrate. Personally, it would bother me to always have my screen leaning to the side.
