Great Value, Awesome Quality, Switched to Razer

Let's first just say I have been a loyal Logitech customer for nearly 10 years. I had the G933 headset and G213 keyboard as my first gaming peripherals and they lasted me a long time. I then went with a G703 Lightspeed later to match the overall peripherals all together in the software suite. Shortly after, I felt like updating my peripherals because I wanted a new keyboard and honestly, my my mouse was pretty lame and the headset was really old. Fast forward, I bought this kit and I can definitely say the kit is definitely worth it. I don't need a $200 mouse and $200 keyboard to game and feel justified about my purchase. The keyboard itself is very clicky which to some may deter them from keyboard overall, but I actually like it. I have noticed that I have made less error when typing quickly with this keyboard over my previous linear Logitech keyboard. The mouse is also awesome and I have noticed that my ability to sync the mouse to my reaction time in FPS games is a lot better with this mouse compared to the G703 I used previously. If you're looking for a quality and feature packed gaming peripheral kit, this is the one you need. Logitech would never. I just hope this kit last me just as long my Logitechs did.

This combo pack was fantastic, offering a gaming mouse and mechanical keyboard at a reasonable price. As an Overwatch player, I particularly appreciate the integration with Razer Central and Razer Synapse, which illuminates the most important keys.
Perfect clickety sound and feel (Non-Gamer)

I purchased this set after looking at it at my local WM for a while. I would go back to the display and try out the keys over and over again during my visits - which *some* of how I made the decision to go ahead and purchase it. The price for this keyboard, mouse, and pad set was very economically priced in comparison to my local WM, where I would have made the purchases separately. WHAT I LOVE: The sound and feel of this Razer Black WIdow keyboard was THE SELLER for me. I am all about the clickety clackety of mechanical keyboards that I had with my first computers in the 80s. The tactile feedback on this keyboard surpassed my nostalgic "needs" and expectations for feel and sound. The backlit colorfulness is a welcomed, added upgrade to the past, and I am really digging the sound control roller bar as well. I haven't done much to explore the app for the keyboard, but my son did when he was home for a visit, and he did run it through its paces, and had all sorts of lighting scenarios and combinations and had set up macros, etc., but he is a super user for his work, and a gamer. I like the wrist bar, even though it is not attached. The wrist bar does not have a leather or vinyl cover, which I could care less about. It does have a small, grainy pattern molded into the plastic which makes it not slick or shiny (a good thing) but not so pronounced that I feel it on my wrist or palms. The mouse is nice and works well. I like the fact that the cords are covered in a nylon mesh fabric. This is particularly important to me as I have a cat (Millie) who has developed quite a taste for USB cords. She is especially fond of the spicy variety, which are plugged in and live. For some reason woven covers aren't as intriguing or tasty, so this wire being covered saves me from having to add bulky wire coverings and makes them easier to get out of the way. The mouse pad is okay. I haven't had it that long or used it that much and the top layer is already beginning to separate on the front edge. It does cover a good bit of surface. I think I would have preferred it to be wider and narrower. But, I am not a gamer, and I'm thinking the dimensions are catered to gamers. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: I only have one issue really with this keyboard. Sometimes when I start using it it will get hung up on one of the first 2 or 3 letters I type and repeat it for a long string. When this happens the lights on my keyboard are out, and the repeating letter issue persists. I looked up how to resolve this online, and made sure that I had the latest updates, etc., to no avail. The vast majority of the advice was to send it back / exchange it for a new one. However, I have discovered that if I unplug it from my USB hub for a second or two and plug it back in it's in good working order again for a couple of days. Whatever this little glitch is, I wish the manufacturer would fix it. For me, it's not a huge deal breaker. I'm not sure if I knew in advance about it if I would have made the purchase, but maybe I would. That's how much I love typing on it. However, I think that potential new users should be aware that this could happen, and more importantly how to work around it. Prior to this keyboard I had an Alie*War* gaming mechanical keyboard/mouse set. In comparison, the Razer Black Widow has a much better sound and feel than that mechanical gaming set. AND, I didn't realize until later with the Alie*War* that it wasn't normal to have most of the keys from the keyboard rolling around in the box and not attached to the keyboard. I had to put it together like a DIY project. This has had me for the last 2 years constantly hunting keys, as they would pop off if I struck them on an edge or if I brushed them with papers or a folder. As a matter of fact, one of the edge pushers for this purchase was me looking at videos on how to remedy the problem, and doing a test run consisting of painting the inside of the key cap mount with thin modeling glue, letting it dry, and then theoretically replacing it in hopes that the slightly bulked up surface would keep it from flying off. I had 4 key cap mounts painted with glue and allowed them to dry over night. The next day, Millie, the aforementioned connoisseur of USB wires, had stolen them from the table. It took me 2 weeks to locate them all, 2 of which she had batted underneath the refrigerator. Such was my catalyst to make this purchase, which was already in my Amazon shopping cart anyway. BTW, when I found the key caps and replaced them, there still was not enough bulk to keep them seated, even after several reapplications of the glue. Conclusion: I would most likely buy this Razer Black Widow again purely because of the tactility and sound. I would likely recommend to friends, but I would make sure they knew how to alleviate the key repetition issue if it should arise for them. I really wish I could've given it a little better than 4 stars, but not quite 5 due to the little bug issue with repeating letters and the edge of the mouse pad already separating/wearing.
