Totally worth it. The Rocketbook Wave changed the game for my notes. I can now EASILY combine into ONE pdf if I want, just by changing a few settings, and scanning each page. At the end of class, I whip out my phone, and 30 seconds later, BOOM. Notes are in a pre-selected folder in my Google drive, as one neat pdf. It makes sharing my notes easy, which is fantastic for when you tutor students, teach friends, or a classmate goes "hey man could I borrow your notes?" I also bought the colored Frixion pens, and the colors really POP in the scanned images. That said, for the skeptics, here are the 3 problems that should reasonably influence your purchase: 1.) Reusability: 5 reuses on average. 80 pages. A total of 400 pages. That is, if you can deal with ghosts that don't show up when you scan the pages. You will end up with ghosts of previous notes after wiping your notebook. These range in severity depending on how much pressure you write with, and how densely you write. Sometimes I can't tell I've used the page before. Other times, I regret coloring in that diagram... I tend to wipe the book before actually using all of the pages (I haven't used all 400 theoretical pages yet). The average page gets more like 6 wipes. 2.) Durability: I do understand if someone is frustrated that their pens and notebook wiped themselves in their hot car. If you set the notebook on fire, that is your fault. However, it is a paper notebook with a plastic coating on the cover so you can set a glass of water on it in the microwave. As with any notebook, you really ought not to get it wet nor tear it. Keep it inside something that won't ruin the edges; like a padfolio. I made the mistake of keeping in my backpack like regular notebooks; still scans, but looks ugly. 3.) Price: Obviously, you can buy 400 pages of notebook paper and colorful pens, then scan notes into pdf all for less than $27. I pay nearly $45 for the notebook and my PREFERRED set of Frixion pens. I also deal with keeping them both at room temperature to avoid writing in invisible ink. I do this because for twice the cost, it lets me do the same stuff in half the space, half the waste, and half the time. To me, the convenience is well worth it.

Makes you want to take notes because the concept is really cool! The scanner app works really well

My boyfriend and I are in college for engineering and I bought this for him to take notes. I saw it on Shark Tank and was kind of excited to try it. Pros: Makes you want to take notes because the concept is really cool! The scanner app works really well. It crops out all unnecessary things and makes the notes look like they were written on a tablet. Comes with a pen (there's a con to the pen so see the cons) The lines on the paper don't show up once scanned The paper is essentially graph paper instead of lined paper (which suits an engineering lifestyle perfectly) Cons: The pen was pictured as black but the pen that it came with was blue...may not seem like a big deal but some people (myself included) like black ink only The app does not allow for you to create new google drive folders. The folders that you link with the app must already be set up. I'm sure that they will eventually catch on to this and fix it but as of today, it's not fixed You need to be aware of the size of your microwave: If you have a smaller microwave, DO NOT get the larger sized Rocketbook. It does weird things to the pages when it's spinning in a microwave that's not big enough. Even if it fits in the microwave, make sure that when it turns it fits at every angle. If you're a heavy handed writer (you push down on the paper hard when you write) DO NOT get this. The ink may disappear but the indentations stay there. I'm not sure if they show up when scanned. I haven't gotten that far yet. I also wouldn't recommend this for homework unless you want to print out your homework from the cloud and hand it in. The pages aren't meant to be ripped out. Overall: In general, I really like it. The concept is cool enough to encourage note taking and the FriXion pilot pens and highlighters are awesome. It seems really practical and I think it was worth it.
