[Old Version] TurboTax Premier 2022 Tax

For years I just let a tax professional do my tax preparation. Finally my broker said bring your taxes and we'll do it on my copy of turbotax. I was astonished at how quickly and easily my taxes could be done. I started purchasing TurboTax, and have really liked the product. Wish I could say the same about intuit; which is a very difficult company to deal with. However, back to TurboTax itself. The product does a good job of leading you through what you need to enter and asking questions for common scenarios where you might be able to have some savings. It is not omniscient, and you do have to know a little about your deductions from the previous years to know what might be carried over or able to be repeated in the current year. The thing I like best about TurboTax is that it will check your previous year's taxes and pull in data to help guide you in the current year. There are multiple levels of products so make sure to select the one appropriate for you. Since I have investments both nationally and internationally, I needed the premier edition. This edition has worked well for me, though if you have canine forms it does not do a good job of processing those if you have an investment that spans multiple nations. You wind up having to submit each individuals countries investments separately. Since one of my investments had 36 different countries, it was a royal pain in the patoot to do my taxes that year. I wound up selling the investment to simplify my taxes and following years. I was surprised that TurboTax would not let you enter multinational canine forms, however this is not the usual situation for most investors. I did make use of the tax advisory service, and found it very useful. The individuals I spoke with were knowledgeable, and able to point me in the right directions when I had tax related questions. I especially appreciated the ability to file my taxes electronically. Also the ability to file a tax extension was very useful, as my broker often doesn't have final numbers until june. Summary: if you've been putting off doing your taxes because they were difficult and you hate the paperwork, definitely look at using a software product like turbotax. I would recommend this and it purchased it every year since 2013. I would not recommend buying this directly from intuit. Intuit will rip you off and double or triple bill you for the product. Buy it through a third party such as Amazon where they are information is not provided to intuit.
