The instructions are simple and easy to follow, even for someone with no prior experience. It analyzed a wide range of contaminants, including lead, chlorine, hardness, and more. The results were clear and easy to read, and I appreciated how quickly I got them. I think it's something we should have at home to regularly check the quality of the water we're using. It's a good price for the number of test strips it comes with.

Can’t determine if water contains acceptable levels of lead

I tested our water for lead but this product is not sufficiently sensitive to reveal if you have low but dangerous levels of lead. (Federal rules require public water systems to take corrective action if their water delivers over 15 ppb of lead. This product only detects down to ppm of lead.) It also requires the user to make a subjective interpretation of a color change. This is not a bad product for an inexpensive quick, crude analysis of 16 possible contaminants in your water. But it isn’t sensitive enough to determine if your water has unsafe levels of lead. 5-stars for inexpensive, easy-to-use for a variety of contaminants 1-star for usefulness for determining unsafe levels of lead
