Just Like at the Deli!

This lil gizmo is like a having a butcher on hand in your kitchen. It's sleek, it's stylish, and it cuts through meat like it's butter! First things first, let's talk about how freaking cool this slicer looks (I'm such a goon for aesthetics lol). It's all shiny and stainless steel-y, and when you unfold it, it's like unveiling a secret weapon of deliciousness. I swear, my friends and family are going to start thinking I'm some kind of gourmet chef with this bad boy in my possession heh heh heh. But looks aren't everything, right? Luckily for me (and my taste buds), this foldable meat slicer is not just a pretty face. It gives me total control over slicing thickness - from paper-thin ham slices to thick chunks of cheese that are perfect for melting on top of burgers. Best feature - lightweight and since it folds it doesn't take up a ton of space

Pros: Cuts stuff Folding design works well Reasonably easy to clean - make sure you take the blade off Blade seems sharp enough With discount, reasonably cheap enough Cons: Motor a bit slow and underpowered, starts complaining if you push the meat against the cutting plane too hard, eg to get a thinner slice Tolerances and blade speed/power too poor for very thin slices, under about 4mm you just get small shavings. Don't expect to be slicing prosciutto or carpaccio with this. Large gap between carriage and blade causes bottom of meat to ride beneath the blade and form a "flap" as you slice it. This means you won't get the full cross section of the meat, and you have to occasionally flip the meat or cut off the flap. This is by far the most frustrating aspect. Pusher assembly is useless - I purchased cut proof gloves and just hold the meat on the carriage. "Catcher" plate lip doesn't stay on the slicer, sliced meats push it off. I got this to slice my own turkey breast and roast beef deli meats thinner than I can do by hand. With some adaptations I can make it work, but don't expect anything close to the performance of the slicers your deli counter has.
