VOLTORB Car Air Purifier with HEPA Filtration System

It working good, but sometimes stops. The charger is broken, I am looking for charge replacement.

I love the air purifier but how in the world do you find replacement filters? I’ve had mine for 6 months and it’s flashing red which I assume I need a new filter but I can’t seem to find a replacement

I'm very happy with this device.A while back, my car's "moonroof" developed a leak. A seal failed, and I got significant water accumulation inside my car interior as a result. I got all the damage repaired, and everything cleaned, but there was still a musty, mildewy scent which just wouldn't go away. Of course, summers in the Texas sun will "cook off" almost anything living, but the odors remained.So, I tried "damp-rid" and a vent-through box of baking soda... and they helped. I could still detect the odor, however slightly.SO... I decided to put this in my car for a while.Note, this can supposedly be mounted on the back of a car headrest. In my case, that solution really didn't work well, however, so I chose to simply rest it on the rear window deck. I left it plugged in full time, but the rear "cigarette lighter" power port is only powered when the ignition is on, so it would run any time I was driving, and shut off anytime I was not.It took about three months for the odor to be entirely gone. I can't detect ANY unpleasant odor at this point. Certainly, the carpet and unholstery shampooing helped, the damp-rid and baking soda helped, but this was what took me over that tipping point into "a clean car again" territory.I don't smoke, but I did have a passenger once who, while not smoking in my car, smelled of smoke herself. This eliminated that odor by the end of the next time I drove my car.It works well. It's portable, relocatable, and flexible in terms of how it can be used. And it's pretty effective at getting smoke, dust, mold spores, etc, out of the air.I had never really thought about getting one of these before I needed it, but I now consider it a "permanent" part of my car's interior kit-out!

Product appears well made. Filter is very thin/shallow so not too much depth to it. They quote filtering specs but never specify the lab and how the test was done. Not sure if this is really a filter capable of .1 microns. Want it to remove smoke in car but not sure if it will work. Biggest issue is that replacement filters do not seem to exist. What do I do, throw it out when the filter needs to be replaced? Their website is not running so can't tell if they are still in business. I will pay more for a filter I can find replacements for. This one is risky.

After a week of use, I can't discern any significant difference in my car's air quality. Granted, it only runs when the engine is on and I'm in transit, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder about the device's efficacy. I open a door or window, and don't we kind of reset the air state in the car? And this is not an ozone device, so its mild HEPA filtration isn't going to resolve odors or anything like that. I'm a bit puzzled then as to what exactly this device accomplishes even if it operates correctly and does filter some of the air?

Bought this for the car because our air quality has been garbage for a while now. It is easy to use, no installation other than strapping it to the seat back if that's where you want it. However, every bump in our city streets shook the filter loose, and that made the purifier stop working and throw up a "replace filter" error light. This is not meant for using in a moving car, which is why we wanted it.

I love having the additional filtration, especially after having my daughter. We’ve had to find new places for it to sit as it takes up the space where her camera monitor goes in the car.

Edit on 7/2/23 to add: I did not have a specific use for this purifier other than spring pollen. Recently, Canadian wildfires have spiked our outdoor air quality into the dangerous 300-400 range. We have purifiers running in the house but this also gave us clean air in the car. That’s where this purifier proved it’s weight in gold. This is the type device you don’t think you need until you do. Still waiting on replacement filters to become available however, so can’t change my rating until I’m certain I’ll be able to continue using it once the filter requires replacement.The Voltorb was larger than I expected. The product photos specify the measured dimensions, but it definitely appears larger in hand. It comes with a strap to attach it to a headrest and a dual-sided non-slip mat for dash placement. I wanted to use the anti-slip mat on the front dash but the height and design of my dash makes it partially obstruct my view. I also don’t completely trust the non-slip mat in the event of a hard stop. I may switch to the headrest mount option because I’ve already replaced my windshield twice due to rock damage.As far as operation, it starts and shuts down automatically with the vehicle when plugged in. There are fan speed adjustments (auto, low, med, high) but no power button. The controls are touch sensitive and have LED status indicators. The fan runs quietly except on the highest speed setting. It’s hard to tell how effective it is because I apparently don’t have a lot of impurities in the vehicle interior. The air quality indicator also always stays green. I wonder if it would be more effective during the spring when pollen counts are higher.The one major thing that concerns me is the availability of replacement filters. The instructions recommend replacing the filter every 3-6 months but no filter model number is provided and I’m unable to find replacement filters on Amazon. Searching the web for “Voltorb” proved fruitless as well. The only results I kept getting were for a popular card game rather than the manufacturer. I get the impression it will be difficult if not impossible to replace the filter. For this reason, until filters are more widely and easily available, it’s hard to recommend this vehicle purifier to others.

Even though it's big, I like this car air filter; when it works, it works well to purify the air in my car, which is great in heavy traffic. I have a Jeep Patriot, and it just fits on the console between the driver and passenger seats. The rubber mat keeps it from slipping — the air filter won't budge, even when coming to a quick stop, or tilting up the console cover a ways.My only complaint — and it's kind of major — is that I can't figure out how to keep it working. It keeps turning off by itself and the indicator light turns red. I've done some troubleshooting, and can't figure out any reason for it to be doing this. I unplug it and plug it back in, and it starts up again for a while (anywhere from 30 seconds to five minutes), then turns off by itself. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the settings, even though "Auto, I, II, II" is labeled on there, like I should be able to do something. I looked at the directions, and felt all over the device, and can't find any buttons or pressure points that let me interact with it, it only responds to unplugging and plugging it back in. I just started using it, so it can't be that the filter is clogged, and I checked the intake, and don't see any problems there, so I really don't know what's going on. I don't know if my air purifier unit is faulty, or I'm doing something wrong, or ...?I don't really want to dock it stars, because I'm assuming that the issue is operator error, but I feel like it should be easier to figure out what's going on, and I haven't yet, even after scouring the user manual for clues (it's not extensive, which might be part of the problem). I might go ahead and contact the company to see if the issue is me or the device, because I really like it when it works and I would like it to keep working for more than a few minutes at a time!

VOLTORB Car Air Purifier with HEPA Filtration System, Replaceable Carbon Activated FilterSETUP:It's really a no brainer. The unit comes with a car plug and a filter. Insert the filter from the cabinet and plug the unit to the car socket. It wasn't hard to remove the plate for the filter. Anyone will be able to set this up without a problem.FUNCTIONALITY:This item works great!!! I used to smoke cigarettes but stopped a few years ago. There was always this muggy scent in my car that I cannot get rid of until I started using this filter. The button isn't click so you'll have to navigate to the button options. There's really not much to change. So far, I've only turned this unit on and off.QUALITY AND LOOKS:Item is light. The mesh outside gave this more of an expensive feel. Shape definitely gave it more futuristic aura. It looks good in my car and I'm sure that newer modeled cars would look nicely with this in it. I have a Honda Fit in black. So, if you think about it, ithis filter would look fantastic in it cause the center console is the same color and the same mesh style... Would look nice... This thing is so wide it doesn't fit in it by an inch. So, that's why I had to take a point off of it. However, if you want to throw it in the back seat, leave it there while you drive (yep, it'll automatically turns back on), that's fine too.MY THOUGHTS:I still use it but it's literally on the floor and that I know I'm going to need to keep buying filters.PS: I wrote this when I was high 😂
