Do yourself a favor and before you use these, just pop the top cover off (slide the silver cover with the thumb indent forward, then remove the screw below that and the two at the rear of the device that hold the red cover on) and squirt in a bunch of dielectric grease on the exposed contact points, most importantly near the power switch, then button it back up. A little bit of water ran down the side of the device after I had rinsed the blades and was holding it upright. That water easily entered the case where the power switch is (there's no seal at all) and shorted the contact between the battery and the power switch, causing it to turn on while the switch was still in the off position. tried shaking the water out to no effect. Ended up having to remove the cover and use my air compressor to blow what little water was in there out in order to power the clippers down. Then I gooped in a bunch of dielectric grease all over that and the contact/solder points near the plug end. hopefully that prevents this from happening again in the future, but I was pretty surprised at 1. how there is zero seal or gasket at all between the exterior and the internal switch. 2. no contact points or switches are sealed, insulated, or otherwise protected. and 3. how little water triggered this. They work fine now, but when you're dealing with lithium batteries, shorts like that are scary.
