Good dehumidifer
By Craig de Satnick on Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2025
I got this Alorair Sentinal HD65s in October 2024 to replace the umpteenrh dehumidifier in my basement. So far so good, it started up right away. Game set match for Alorair. I am using the condensate pump to get rid if the water. One thing to keep mind of is that getting the dehumidifer is important. Don't ask LOL. It comes with a 5 Year Limited Warranty from the manufacturer but I highly recommend getting the extended service policy at check out. Here is why, from the owners manual : Six (6) Month parts and labor. This includes the shipments charges for replacement parts or unit. One (1) year parts and labor. This does not include the shipment charge to send the efective product back to be repaired or replaced. Three (3) years parts and labor on Refrigeration System ONLY {Compressor, Condenser, and evaporator). Transportation cost, not included. Five (5) years parts on Refrigeration System ONLY(Compressor,Condenser, and vaporator).Transportation cost, not included. So as you can see, there are limit and if you get the Assurion ESP it's no fuss or headaches, file the claim, it goes to approval and the purchase cost shows up as an Amazon Gift Card. I have filed a claim on every dehumidifer I have purchased onn Amazon in the last 20 years. So yes there have been a few. I also purchased the Remote Operation Panel to run this from my basement landing. See the review at that page.

Great machine for wasting time and money
By James Savage on Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2025
Disappointing. I encapsulated our crawlspace when we moved in 10 years ago. I had a basic dehumidifier draining into a condensation pump. I wanted to upgrade and took a gamble on the alorair. Had a drain issue about 6 months in and cleared it. Just under 1 year to the day the coil has frozen and it’s useless during the most humid season of the year in spring. Customer support was quick to respond and want to prove it’s the product, I get it, questioning install and filter and want humidity and temps. So now reinstall ol reliable dehumidifier and condensate pump and the $700 alorair is down. I’d rather have money back than a new unit. Update: Let the coil thaw and it ran for a week fine pulling down humidity from 60 to 42, and they closed the claim. Couple days later I see the humidity has raised in the crawl slowly. Coil frozen again.. Since it froze right at a year they will take the machine back and repair or replace but I’m responsible for round trip shipping. Down 3 times in about a year. Don’t feel like I should pay anything. Wish I had never purchased. I suggest anyone considering either buy a high dollar name brand or go with a simple dehumidifier from the big box store with an extended warranty and drain to a condensate pump. If you have your doubts like I did. Trust your gut and keep moving. My big box store $250 dehumidifier has pulled down the humidity lower than the alorair ever did.
