Processing power in a sleek, lightweight body with a respectable display
By Raphael on Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2023
A notebook that charges a "premium rate" but that is justified because of the quality of the composition of the body of the product that is notably robust and at the same time incredibly lightweight. And it has considerable power in such a thin space, so it qualifies as an ultrabook so the industry already puts a premium label on it, I guess. However, it is not for everyone. Gamers and graphic designers shouldn't buy it, but that's stating the obvious. For my use, the LG Gram serves perfectly. Like coding (nothing super advanced, mind you), managing my company's accounts applications based on the Google Workspace platform, Microsoft Office apps - including advanced use of Excel, Microsoft Power BI to analyze huge chunks of data, in addition to being able to run virtualization solutions without hiccups (I've tested Windows Sandbox - very light and smooth, Oracle Virtual Box running Linux side by side within Windows 11 - it can handle it pretty well; and finally I use Windows Subsystem for Android to run Android side by side with win 11 - no problems here, exception for games). I've never tested Windows Hyper-V so I can't give an opinion on that. In short, if you're like me, you don't work with design, images or videos editing, but you need a machine that can handle heavy data analysis in texts, spreadsheets, CSV files, SQL databases consultations AND you still like a decent and large monitor, so yeah, this one is for you. Go confident that this LG Gram delivers all that in a body that weighs a whopping 2.98 pounds!!! I am very pleased and frankly I am confused and flabbergasted by some of the comments here about problems with the laptop. I think the problem is between the machine and the chair, i.e. in the person sitting in front of the PC. Does it come with bloatware? Yes, but, if you can't deal with that in 2023 I don't know why you are buying a machine like this. There are so many options to get around this... install windows 11 from scratch via an ISO file on USB, use Linus, whatever. These folks would do better to buy a Macbook which is for those who just want a machine that magically (and childishly) works and nothing else.

couldn't use it
By wendell wright on Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2024
i can't give a review. when i received the laptop, which was a used, refurbished unit, it had never been refurbished, the original owners account was still set up on it so i was unable to do more then turn it on but was unable to use it because i couldn't sign in to the original owners' account. which is a good thing. so, i had to return it.
