I chose the hardwire option: big mistake. First, it has EIGHT screws and washers to hold on a plastic faceplate! Eight! And all surrounded by plastic molding so if you have sausage fingers… good luck. Next, the to manipulate #6 awg into the tiny, BENDY, plastic ports on the circuit board - stuff of nightmares. In my head I’m thinking posts like in an electrical panel. Nope. Just use the 14-50 NEMA plug for this thing and save yourself a massive headache. The charger itself works fine. The app is a little clunky and overwrought. They are trying to be a house energy management thing… I just wanted a car charger. Oh, and the faceplate is perfectly secure with two screws. Ask me how I know.
