Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Active Noise Cancelling Headphones (Open Box)

This is the second order of Sony headphones that I’ve gotten. I loved the previous version and just simply wore them out so I thought I’d upgrade. I bought these about a year ago and I’m only just doing the review now...frankly because I feel so strongly about it. If you’re looking for a pair of noise canceling headphones that are good for listening during short periods of time, then these should work for you. But if you’re like me and are often in 6 to 8 hours worth of meetings where you need to wear your headphones and then you like to listen to music or audiobooks during your off work hours, then these are not the headphones for you. The over the ear foam is so thin that the cartilage of your ear pushes into the middle mechanical part of the listening device on the inside of the ear mesh. I don't have unusually big ears either. They’re just too uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Even if you’re considering a long cross country flight, your ears are gonna get tired and your ear cartilage is gonna be sore. Also, the new app that goes along with the headphones, always disconnects. So once I turn off the automatic, switching between ambient sound and noise canceling, if the app disconnects then it turns that off too and makes it very difficult to change it back - which can be awful if it happens right before a meeting.
