The Wahl Metal Edition Seniors is one of the best grooming purchases I’ve made. Cutting primarily my own hair doing fades, and occasionally friends and family for 9 years, I’ve transitioned to the Wahl Senior Metal Edition clipper from the Wahl starter color coded clipper. The weight is balanced, and not over cumbersome making each stroke feeling balanced. I also appreciate the thoughtful design of the curvature at the bottom and the overall girth. I’m able to maneuver the clippers comfortably in my hand while having a firm grip and precisely cut my hair. In addition, the metal material doesn’t interfere with maintaining a good grip from what I initially thought could possibly make it slippery to grip . Compared to what I’m use to, it cuts seamlessly and effortlessly with one pass. The battery life and both charging speed is reasonable. It lasted as advertised, and product details states it takes approximately 70 minutes to charge, however I charged it for under an hour to a full charge. Not to mention, you have the option of having it plugged in via a nice lengthy cord if the battery dies. The noise level was reasonably quiet. It was subtle enough to be able to hear my hair being cut, which is important for me. And it doesn’t have that loud vibration noise compared to other clippers I’ve researched reviews on. Lastly, I regrettably can say I’ve already dropped this new purchase 3 feet roughly from my stomach onto tiling… ugh. However, the Metal Edition Seniors took it like a champ with no damage to the casing or blades. Wheeeew! It’s proven to be sturdy. The only complaints I have which can be remedied and doesn’t root from the clippers itself. Right out the box, if you don’t oil the blades, they get REALLY hot. After adding oil, it fixed the problem. Lastly, one of the premium clipper guards (I believe it was the 1/16th clipper guard) the metal bottom which may be flush up against the plastic creates an uncomfortably loud noise - similarly to the issue I’ve brought up with other clippers I’ve reviewed. It hurts my ear drums. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. I purchased these with the Cyber Week deal however. They were the same price as standard Wahl Senior MSRP, and if it wasn’t for the deal, I probably wouldn’t have made this purchase for $200+.
