ViewSonic PX701HDH 1080p Projector (Open Box)

This was the cheapest projector I could find that seemed to meet all my requirements without any fatal flaws. I hoped it would cost less. I've been using this as my main TV for several weeks and so far am happy with it. Notes: - Good brightness. No problem watching in daytime, do sometimes close the blinds. - Internal speaker is OK but we did end up hooking up a better speaker via 3.5mm. - Keystone correction is digital-only. - Lens has zoom adjustment but it's limited. - Projector gets quite hot while operating. - Picture quality is sharp, with good color. Overall very happy with the visual experience. So far this projector has met my expectations and I have no major gripes. I will update this review if it craps out... UPDATE: 2 years later, it has not crapped out and is still working fine.

I bought this projector for our outdoor patio. Some people claim that you can watch things in daylight, that is not true. The picture is visible in daylight but too washed out to enjoy. We use it once it gets dark out and it gets very bright then. This is a 1080P projector and looks great at proper viewing distances (not too close up). We have it projecting an image on a 100" screen. Colors are accurate, picture is bright, and there isn't much visible lag.

I'm very pleased with this projector. It's notably bright and connects seamlessly with various devices. However, to achieve the best visibility, especially during mid-day, it's necessary to have the room fairly shady. The image quality when focused is impressively bright and clear. The keystone correction feature is helpful for squaring the image along one axis. That said, it’s important to note that this projector needs to be centered along either the horizontal or vertical axis to function properly. It cannot project diagonally across a room (from one corner to the center of a wall) and still allow for keystone adjustments, which might be a limitation in some setups. Given its performance, this projector offers good value for its price. I would recommend purchasing a carrying case for it, as this makes it easier to transport and protects it from damage. Overall, this projector is a commendable choice for anyone looking for a reliable and bright projector without breaking the bank.

This item worked great for two days. It was perfect for my walk out basement which has tons of ambient light. The projectors lumens was plenty for this room. However, I had 30 friends over to play cards and watch the Super Bowl and this thing craps out. Didn’t even have it a week. The picture froze on the display and there was no way to even power it off except to unplug. When powered back on; it still kept the same frozen picture. Messed with it for hours and nothing would work. Called customer support and they had no fix and said to send it back.

I bought the Viewsonic 701HDH to watch 3D bluray movies using my old PS4 Pro. Works like a champ. Just need to make sure you sync the glasses for the effect to work properly. My main issue is the throw distance and sound. No Bluetooth audio, so I am ordering a audio to bluetooth converter. In order to get the full 100 inch screen, I have to put the projector on the opposite side of the room. Minor issues, but solvable. To be honest, 1080p never looked this good to me on such a big screen. UPDATE: I was able to confirm my suspension of being sent an open box item. I found a setting that reveals hours used for the lamp. It logged more hours than I actually used. For this reason, I'm updating the review from 4 stars down to 3. I did get the item on sale and it does appear to work without issues.

Our new home came with a mounted Sony projector that was on its last leg. It finally crapped out and we tried to take the budget route and ended up with a really bad, really loud projector. So I decided to bump up the price point a little and found that this one had great reviews. I couldn’t be happier. It was easy to install, easy to adjust, the picture quality is great (there is a weird ‘frame’ of light around the screen which might just be a setting I haven’t explored…. But it seriously doesn’t bother me). It’s been a few months since I’ve installed it and still no problems. Hoping this thing lasts a long time!

Can only be used on a coffee table not for a shelf.

I never had a projector before, but we recently bought a house that has a room very suited to a projector, so I bought this Viewsonic instead of a new TV. The wall is screen ratio, and 4.2m wide. When I switched this puppy on to watch sport, I was very very impressed. I stream thru a Firestik and have a decent bluetooth soundbar - my house is now the go-to for fellas wanting to watch a game.

I like this projector just fine. Easy to get up and running, affordable (on sale), bright enough for daytime use, and quiet enough for my taste. Taking 1 star down bc agree with others that the colors are disappointing. It feels like you’re getting a shrunken spectrum. The image tends to be too muddy or too saturated, and while you can improve it with the settings, you can’t expand that narrow spectrum. That’s just how it’s going to be. It’s my first projector, I’ve never owned a big TV, only laptops and an ipad. The thrill of watching something this big on my wall is real, so overall I’d say I’m happy.
