The fire comes out from top pins

I shopped several of these types of lighters. Many had depressed pins. The flames are not like a butane lighter that shoot up several inches (at least 1). These lighters only have the flames going between the pins. I am very pleased with this one with the raised pins. Time will tell if the value for the money stands, depends upon battery life.

Not for cigars

This is a plasma lighter powered by a battery and doesn't need lighter fluid, just rehcarge it and you're good to go.It works great, but doesn't work well for lighting cigars.You need to pretty much stick the lighter into the end of the cigar to get it to light.If you need to start a fire while camping, this works fine.
