Sad to see it go...

I have been using this unit for several years to keep our place dry during vacations. We live in a very humid climate and always came home to a mold free home... Which actually happened to us prior to buying this unit. 4 weeks away and couches, chairs, fabrics... you name it... all covered in fuzz. This has not happened since we started using the dehumidifier. Sadly, the unit finally gave out and the region we moved to is outside of the continental US so we cant send it in for repairs, or replacement. I did reach out to Vellgoo and they responded quickly and professionally, however we just cant get it fixed due to our location in the Mariana Islands. I'll sadly have to try another brand that is available locally, but they cost much more for the same coverage area. But that's the cost of living in paradise. I would still recommend this if anyone is looking for an affordable and reliable unit. Our humidity and salty ocean air in a Pacific Island will do a number to any unit and this one did really well considering the environment.

It works but just not 3,200 Square or at least that is a bit misleading But Is It the Right Unit

(Update #3) The seller has given a full refund of my unit. I think they are looking into if the manufacturer is shipping the correct products out or if descriptions are correct .... I have put my rating back to three stars because of this but something is still not jelling with these units. I applaud the seller for making it right for the customer though. (update #2) I have been talking to the seller via email about the unit but funny thing is there are multiple units from this company all with square footage (1500,3000,3200,4500,5000) and water removal amounts(22, 36,52, 60 pints per day) . All look exactly the same are the same size and all BUT when I looked for the only model number (there is no other information on the unit) Mine came back as the 1500 square feet and 22 pint not the 3200 square feet and 36 pint unit. I am waiting for their reply but you may want to check yours to see if you got what you paid for Vellgoo TAURUSRCS25(Y)-N1-3 TAURUS-RCS25(Y)- N1-3 Portable Dehumidifier Emery rating - 1.75 Pints per day removal 21.98 (update - after my review seller has reached out to see about a resolution I am impressed with that and waiting to see how that plays out) First overall I am ok with the unit although it does not keep the humidity low enough in my crawlspace. It has been running non stop now for about a month in my 1500 Square foot 3-4 foot high crawlspace and yet to get the humidity down to 50 where i set it to cut off. Even with outdoor humidity in the 60% range and starting under the house at 64% it has still not got down to 50% humidity yet. Well let me correct that I am ok with it if the electric bill does not kill me for 24/7 running of this unit. The crawlspace has a vapor barrier and the vents are about 90% sealed and this is an overall lower humidity time in my area so I waited a month to write my opinion. I am pretty sure it will really struggle in the most humid times of the summer. My indoor humidity is under 50% so it should not be affecting the crawlspace. The only other thing I noted after letting it set for almost 2 days upright before installing it under the house it ran for about two hours (in the 40s outside) and went into defrost mode. I have not seen it go into defrost since then and i check on it often .... maybe there is a problem there? The unit is quiet though I will give it that and I hope as energy saving as it is advertised because like I said other than turning it off to switch the hoses around and to try to position it better it has run nonstop I am going to do some more sealing around vents and such but though yes this unit is removing moisture from the air ....I just don't think i will see below 50% with this unit. It got down to about 50% one day but we got rain the next day and when i checked again it was back up to 58% I have no leaks have a new roof and gutters (less than 6 months old) and have removed all trash debris and such from under my house. I even installed a french drain around the front of my house to help reduce any ground flow moisture. The unit is sitting on a 10'X10' concrete area of my crawlspace made for storage if needed I have it level and on a stand 10 inches about the floor to get better circulation. I could never get the drain plug that came with it to work right without leaking into the dump bucket. using the hose that came with it worked fine so I just made an extension but I did waste buying another garden hose for the unit The unit says / is advertised on the page for "3,200 square feet Customized control and continuous dehumidification mode design, Enjoy healthy air in 45%-55% humidity for home bathroom laundry garage bedroom crawlspace, etc" Well maybe it means 3,200 cubic feet which is much different 1 cubic foot = about 4 square feet so 3,200 cubic feet would be about 800 square feet A 4 foot high crawlspace in a house my size (1500 square feet is about 6000 cubic feet) They should be clear on sizing of units including square and or cubic feet if this is the issue
