Gets VERY hot

The plates are nice and wide & longer than your typical straightener. However, this product just gets WAY too hot for me. I had to lower it 25 degrees lower than my usual temp and it still seemed to be way too hot. I applied heat protectant before using it, as I normally do, but it still gave my hair a burnt smell. I have medium hair, so this might be better suited for someone with very thick or coarse hair. Overall it wasnt for me.
