Microsoft 13.5" Surface Laptop 4 (32GB, 1TB)

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 15" Touch Screen - Intel Core i7 - 32GB - 1TB itself is a decent product; HOWEVER, the one I received developed a horrible display problem. The screen randomly displayed mulit-colored stripes over part or all of the screen, and the error began to occur more frequently through about ten weeks of moderate usage (and NO damage, kid-glove treatment). Here's where the real trouble began. I contacted Amazon for a return/replacement. Amazon said contact Microsoft. Microsoft said the warranty had expired. WHAT?!? That's right. Amazon kept the computer in a warehouse long enough that the manufacturer warranty expired within a few days of my purchase. Microsoft said to contact Amazon. The back-and forth was accentuated with insanely long phone hold times on Microsoft's helpline. Somehow I bought a lemon and no one wanted to help me. What saved the day was a lone Amazon employee who took it upon himself to contact Microsoft to find a customer service manager who would help. By the end of that day, Microsoft had arranged to send me a replacement REFURBISHED computer to be shipped immediately (with a full-price hold on my credit card until the faulty computer was received at Microsoft). The refurbished machine has no problems (yet), the faulty one was received (no charges on my card), and life is working as it should. The Amazon employee contacted me within a week to make certain that the problem had been solved. Amazon's error was huge but that employee made it his business to fix it.
