(NEW) NutriChef Countertop Nugget Ice Maker Machine

5/2/24 *Updated* I have reached out to the company via an online form on their website in addition to emailing them twice with no response. Truly disappointed in the lifespan of their product and their lack of response. 4/16/24 *Revised* We got our first machine in 2022. It lasted just less than a year. The company replaced the original unit (in 2023), which was greatly appreciated. Our newer replaced unit has lasted about a year again. This time the light flashing indicates that the machine is frozen. I’ve taken all of the recommended steps to address the issue in addition to unplugging the unit for hours and up to days in hopes that it might thaw. Regardless, the flashing continues and no ice is being produced. I have since messaged the company again and awaiting a response but my recommendation is to find a machine that might be less problematic and have a longer lifespan. +++++ Set up was easy. Ice came fairly quickly and it was amazing. We loved the soft chunky nuggets! The machine was quiet until we’d had it for about 6 months. It’s now horribly noisy and the light that indicates the need to refill the water reservoir comes on a lot, even when the water reservoir is full. When this light is on, ice is not being made. Lifting the ice basket, putting it back into place and then closing the lid works but we have to do this often. I have reached out to the company and have been corresponding with them but it seems to be going nowhere. We’ve spent a significant amount of money on a machine that was good for a matter of months. We are still getting ice but it does not work the way it should and as I mentioned, it’s terribly loud, making a grinding sound and at other times it sounds like it’s chirping. I’d look for another brand that might last longer and perhaps better customer service.
