Perfect Road / Improved Trail eBike
By S. Moore on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2023
My wife did not like the fat tire ebike she already had. It was way too heavy. We got the Paven Trail, and it was perfect. It is almost as light as a regular bike! She could handle it much better than the very heavy (92 lbs!) fat tire bike. What makes this especially great is the 500w motor. Many ebikes in this category cheap out with an underpowered 350w motor that will not get you up a moderate hill. 500w does the job, and the battery capacity is high enough to provide all the range we need. The bike is not just a road bike. With 1.5" tires, it can also handle an improved trail (think the C&O towpath, the Virginia Creeper Trail, or the New River Trail) - hence the name acknowledges both pavement and trails. BUT, it is not a mountain bike! It is not made for rutty, bumpy backwoods trails. Another point on the weight - we can remove the battery and take it on trails that prohibit ebikes and the Shimano 7 speed shifter provides plenty of leverage. The company offers color-coordinated panniers and a front pouch that we also purchased. Pictured with this review are the soft leather handles, the bright sunlight-readable display, and the ability to use a hoist to store the bike. My wish list for the bike would be that the handlebars had less of a curve to allow more accessories to be installed; you have to buy a bell and front light, and the brake lever does not turn on the brake light. All in all, these are minor issues. Would I buy it again - yes! My wife really enjoys it!

Gutless pretty bike
By Driverdog on Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2024
The seat and matching handles and frame color made for a beautiful ebike great for mildly hilly riding. I bought it specifically because I thought it would be extra comfortable and ergonomic for a female. Previous e-bikes have been ill fitting; specifically reaching the ground while sitting has been a challenge on other e-bikes. This bike is definitely an improvement on fit and ability to reach the ground with my feet while stopped. But the bike is gutless on real hills. I think the wattage is inadequate for my very steep hill to my house. Also, the bike came with chipped paint under the packing foam. Luckily, the chips were on the rack and can be replaced with a part, which the company will replace. I replaced the extraordinarily uncomfortable seat and now I'm quite happy with my gutless bike. I think a cargo bike probably would have had the wattage necessary for my very steep hill.
