So far, so good. Works great. The first Britsou I ordered stopped dehumidifying after a year and a half. I contacted customer service and they replaced it immediately. Excellent customer service.

Instructions lacking, unit is smaller capacity than presented. It does work but does not shut down.

I bought this dehumidifier to replace a Frigidare that went out at the six year point. Setting up the dehumidifier in early June 2023 was easy, Just unplug the drain tube on the back of the unit to remove the plug then reinsert the drain tube. The plug allows water to fill the bucket, not drain out the tube. Instructions don't mention this plug removal. BTW there is not a water pump, it is gravity drain so the machine needs to be higher than the drain pipe. Instructions mention a timer. But instructions are not clear whether it is for stopping the machine or starting the machine. Finally figured it out but in the process the timer no longer advances like the manual says, in fact it shows 23 hours when that has not been set. Tried contacting support about the timer and they wanted a video which I provided. No answer after a week or two. The specs for the device in the manual state 22 pint water removal at 80F or 15.1 pints at 65F. My basement runs about 72 in the summer, so it is not a 55 pint remover at these temperatures. The accuracy of the dehumidifier display is about 3 units lower than actual. All in all, being set at 40% humidity, it is keeping my 2500 sq foot basement at 60% humidity. Power use at this setting is approximately 109Watts , at ten cents KWhr thats 24 cents a day. All in all machine is at the edge of capacity doing its job. Update; Aug 17, 2023 After several months of operation the humidifier runs continuous at the 50% setting in the basement. I'm going to increase the setting to 55% and see if the units shuts off before winter arrives. After sending video info to Britsou they required about the timer problem, no reply after 2 months. I would not recommend this product. Update October 30, 2023. Unit fan won't shut off, (In winter time the fan might shut down when natural humidity drops to 30 - 40% ) although the compressor does recycle. When humidity is set to 50%, the Britsou displays 52% humidity in the 2600 sq ft basement at around 74 degrees F after days of use. Actual humidity measurement is 60.1%. Even if lowering the setting to 40% it does not drop the basement below 60% and the display remains at 52%. Final thoughts: The size is nice but not as effective as desired as featured in the headlines.
