Columbia Peakfreak II Mid Outdry, 13

Tried Columbia in the past and was disappointed when boots with "waterproof" imprinted on the back left my feet wet. Decided after several years they may have made progress with waterproofing. These hiking shoes were comfortable out of the box so I had high hopes. Spent about 4 hours walking around on a dry evening, the shoes felt great. But today, went for a walk in wet grass... not raining at the time, just somewhat soggy grass... and my sox are wet. "Out Dry - Absolutely Waterproof" is not the case. Very much like the shoes, but require them to be waterproof so I'm returning these and won't be going back to Columbia brand for waterproof footwear. If you're in a dry climate and don't need to worry about waterproof, these are great shoes!
